Montecristo Montecristo No. 4 Review:
The taste of numbers 1, 3 and 4 is quite the same, coffee, cocoa and vanilla flavours blended in great harmony with a medium tobacco taste. A minimum ageing of at least three years is recommended for this cigar to find its real potential.

Review #147: Very good cigar. I am still smoking the first box I purchased 2 years ago, the box is from 99. They seem to get better with every one I smoke. A wonderful woody/leather flavor at the start, and then about half that I have smoked turn spicy in the middle, the others go a little mellower than the start. I enjoy the ones that are a little spicy more. Of the 13 I have smoked, I have had no burn problems or draw problems. They are all perfectly constructed. I always enjoy it when I choose one of these out of the humidor. - Submitted by jkeller115 on October 10, 2007
Review #146: Complete disagree with Sasha: Montecristo Cuatro is the most risky cigar available. Some good ones, lots of bad ones: No standard quality at all, they are made in all cigar factories along Cuba. Plenty of them plugged and non smokable at all, even after four years in the humi. Sasha: How long ago did you say you've smoking this cigar? Sorry, I can't believe when you say 'the quality seems constant through the years'. - Submitted by olisiponense on October 9, 2007
Review #145: This is normally a good cigar which I have been smoking a couple times a month for several years now. The only problem is the consistency, because when they are good, they have the very pleasant Monte taste, voluminous smoke, good construction, etc., but when they are bad, they can be barely smokable. I always recommend smoking one before buying the box. - Submitted by finidi on October 9, 2007
Review #144: The cigar has a wonderful colorado wrapper, silky and regular, and it's very soft and elastic to touch. The first nose investigation reveals a thin tobacco smell, but it will be denied by tons of flavour from the very first puff.
The first part is dominated by woody and leathery notes, classic Montecristo taste, with a good nicotine punch and a medium aroma; this is one of the most tolerable cigars for the people around.
The draw and burning are perfect and easy, which is noteworthy because this is the most produced Cuban cigar and it seems that mass production doesn't interfere with fine quality: I've never found a bad one and the quality seems constant through the years. It doesn't show a great evolution, nor it was expected with this vitola, but about halfway down compares a little acid, astringent note, not unpleasant, while the spices start to take their place.
All in all, this cigar is consistent, reliable, suitable for all smokers and every moment of the day, you find it everywhere and most of all it's a fine smoke. Could you ask for more? Maybe, but not to a mareva. - Submitted by sasha on October 7, 2007
Review #143: many smokers' (including myself) first experience with habanos is always a classic. well built, good draw and combustion. but not my favorite in terms of taste: i found many other mareva to be more interesting and satisfying. - Submitted by zumbi on August 25, 2007
