Montecristo Montecristo No. 4 Review:
The taste of numbers 1, 3 and 4 is quite the same, coffee, cocoa and vanilla flavours blended in great harmony with a medium tobacco taste. A minimum ageing of at least three years is recommended for this cigar to find its real potential.

Review #42: This cigar started off with a honeyed taste and progressed into a powerhouse of coffee and spice. It is young, and thus provokes terrific heartburn when smoked on an empty stomach; a year or so of ageing should take some of the edge off. - Submitted by Kopeck Freiherr Von Balk on October 29, 2004
Review #41: Not very impressed! I was really looking forward to these, but so far feel a bit let-down. Not worth the money in my humble opinion. Poorly made, draw not too good, tarry with a harsh taste. At least I can now cross them of my "got to try them" list! - Submitted by n1elus on October 15, 2004
Review #40: I have smoked over 17 boxes of Monte 4's over the last 3 years. Just a wonderful, creamy cigar full of flavour and punch. - Submitted by Amjid on October 15, 2004

Review #38: Ahhh the Monte 4! A cigar that has by far generated the most diverse reviews about it! To add to this range of opinions, here's my 2 cents (as always, done in thirds)- 1/3: mellow with slight sweet undertones. 2/3: still mellow but sweetness replaced by light spice. 3/3: continues to be mellow with spice gently fading. NOTE - having smoked a few of these I can say that the 1/3 and 2/3 remain the same as mentioned, but the 3/3 can sometimes become more spicy rather than the spices fading away…depends on the batch I guess. - Submitted by Deen on October 1, 2004
