Montecristo Montecristo No. 4 Review:
The taste of numbers 1, 3 and 4 is quite the same, coffee, cocoa and vanilla flavours blended in great harmony with a medium tobacco taste. A minimum ageing of at least three years is recommended for this cigar to find its real potential.

Review #162: I've smoked about 4 of these now, and they were all different. The first one i bought for a test drive, and it was wonderful with a mild beginning and continuously new flavours went in to my mouth with rich thick smoke. I was impressed and bought three more.
2 of these were not as good. It was the same taste all the way, and one of them had a very simple kind of boring taste. I must admit that i stored one of these in open air for admiration a day, which might have ruined it(?) - therefore I don't count this in my score. Luckily the last monte#4 saved me, and was just as good as the first one with very rich complexity in taste starting mild, and almost changing in taste with every third draw - excellent. - Submitted by markbk on January 28, 2008
Review #161: I find the monte #4's (and #3's too), sometimes impossible to draw. So much so that I don't buy them anymore. They do improve after 5 years in the humidor, which is one helluva wait ! The small montes, and the monte #2's are much better, I also have some very big montes (22cm) which are awesome. If you like the #3/4 size then I recommend cobibas, R&J's or Trinidads, a very reasonably priced quality cuban everyday cigar. - Submitted by mwlacey on January 20, 2008
Review #160: I smoked one out of a 5 pack. It started with strong honey but then the weather was very windy and I had to light and relight it several times, which, I think, spoiled it's taste. I still have 4 of these lying down, it has been nearly a month since then and I will be trying another one soon, in a closed area this time to avoid the wind.
This review is not conclusive. I will be updating it soon. - Submitted by Lucky Break on January 19, 2008
Review #159: rough and lacking in complexity. Buy a Cohiba or a Hoyo and get a real smoke. This said, a hell of a nicotine hit! - Submitted by jnoble on January 13, 2008
- Submitted by rafa on January 5, 2008
