Montecristo Montecristo No. 4 Review:

The taste of numbers 1, 3 and 4 is quite the same, coffee, cocoa and vanilla flavours blended in great harmony with a medium tobacco taste. A minimum ageing of at least three years is recommended for this cigar to find its real potential.

Review #97: One of my favorite cigars with good construction and for the majority of time a even burn. With recent purchases I have noticed more inconsistency within the same box, (tight draw, uneven burn). Perhaps more time in the humidor would help alleviate these problems. Having said all that, this still remains a great afternoon smoke. - Submitted by Sprta on October 13, 2006

Review #96: Well i just tried this cigar last night , I have to tell you that i am pretty disapointed. This was a one demeshional cigar with weak taste, The draw was way to tight and i think that in the end thats what really ruined it for me . I will try this cigar again in the future because i have more of them hopefully my opinion about this cigar will change . - Submitted by chriseskew24 on September 30, 2006

Review #95: Reviewer #94, I agree with what you said 100%! I used to buy boxes of these all the time & every cigar was excellent. Now, this last box I got was a total joke with only 4 or 5 smokable sticks. The rest might as well be led pipes, because that's about as good of a burn, taste and draw you're going to get out of them. I'll still give this a high score for all the times it has impressed me in the past, but this last box has me burned out on these cigars. Thankfully they are not priced so high that you have to take out a second mortage on your house. - Submitted by mladenovic on September 19, 2006

Review #94: Oh my dear Montecristo, when you are good, you are fabulous, when you are not having such a good day, I cringe at the thought of the taste you provide. My last box, dated Sept 05, 5 great, 10 mediocre, and 10 horrendous. Such inconsistency within the same box is stopping me from buying these for a while. - Submitted by mprach on September 16, 2006

Review #93: Just smoked the last one out of a box that has been in my humidor for over two years. What a great small cigar! Plenty of smoke and an easy draw. Slightly uneven burn, but nothing that detracted from the cigar. Strong, but with good flavor and aroma. Spice, dark chocolate, and espresso were the dominant flavors for me. I have smoked a number of different marevas and always seem to come back to this #4. This being said, they need time in the humidor. If you get a "green" one, it can be harsh. - Submitted by McSmoke on September 11, 2006
