Montecristo Montecristo No. 4 Review:
The taste of numbers 1, 3 and 4 is quite the same, coffee, cocoa and vanilla flavours blended in great harmony with a medium tobacco taste. A minimum ageing of at least three years is recommended for this cigar to find its real potential.

Review #167: I would say that the taste and aroma is fine. Light cigar that can be smoked all day. Cocao, vanilla and chocolate reminded me the taste. It lasted 45 minutes only. This is bad! - Submitted by mariosgeorgiou on March 8, 2008
Review #166: I can not understand how people can give 1/2 point to this cigar.
I have smoked about 15 boxes of 25 cigars in the last 20 months and did not find even one cigar with bad draw.
May be I was very lucky, but if so, only with this particular one, as I found in the same time many others with draw problems: SLR Regios, Serie A and Churchills, many of the RyJ I had, except the short Churchills, which had too loose draw, HdM Epi 2 (cabinet of 50), CGs from Punch like aged Black Prince, PSD4 etc.
Now, I am not smoking the MC #4 too often, as I prefer bigger shapes, but I am getting nervous, when my humidor contains less then 2 boxes of this cigar.
It is a must have cigar.

Review #164: I like this cigar because of the fact that is so mild. It doesn't have a complex taste as a cohiba and thats for is good for begginers. A cigar for all the times of a day. - Submitted by pmavros on February 19, 2008
Review #163: Yesterday I smoked my second Monte no.4, from a pack of 5.
Now, I haven't written a review for my first one because seriously, it sucked. It was very windy when I smoked it and I had to relight it several times, which I think destroyed it's taste.
This time I took my precautions and I smoked it in a closed space.
The pre lit aroma, of course, is wonderful. I quickly cut off the cap and test the draw; good. I start lighting.
The first puff was very good. Can't describe the taste exactly, but lots of thick blue smoke came from my mouth, from the burning end of the stick and from the drawing end as well.
The cigar started to calm down and the smoke decreased a little bit but stayed tasty with notes of cedar from one puff to another. My palate is not yet well developed, I can't distinguish different tastes, but I could easily pick out what seemed to me like honey. I don't know, but when smoking the RyJ No.2 I could distinguish more nuts and cocoa tastes, I could find these nowhere here. There was also this stinging taste on your tongue (which I love) but which didn't last long.
The bitter taste that we sometimes face was still there sometimes, but certainly better than the first no.4, and the burn was nearly perfect, just had to correct it twice.
This was a 30 or 40 minutes smoke in all, didn't last long, unfortunately, but certainly was better than the first one. But I still can't understand the hype about these no.4's, I still like the RyJ No.2 better, to be honest with you.
Worth saying also, is that my first no.4 caused me a severely annoying buzz, this time no buzz at all.
I will leave the remaining three, won't touch them until spring. But I was deciding between a 3 pack Monte Edmundo or a 3 pack RyJ Short Churchills for my next purchase, but I think I will settle down for the RyJ. - Submitted by Lucky Break on January 30, 2008
