Montecristo Montecristo No. 4 Review:
The taste of numbers 1, 3 and 4 is quite the same, coffee, cocoa and vanilla flavours blended in great harmony with a medium tobacco taste. A minimum ageing of at least three years is recommended for this cigar to find its real potential.

Review #157: I enjoyed my monte #4. Not as complex as some but still very pleasant. A creamy stick with a few hints of spice. I am just a few sticks into my box GSP AGO06 but have not had an unpleasant experience yet. Very nice wrap with pleasant aromas. Nice draw and burns evenly. A great 40min smoke that is great after a meal.

Review #155: Had cigar #13 tonight out of a box of 25. Definitely a Jekyll & Hyde experience. Either brilliant, or utter rubbish. The draw varies dramatically from one sample to another.
#12 a week or so ago was plugged and, as a result, unenjoyable. Tonight's #13 was top notch. Perfect draw, with rich plumes of dense smoke without being overpowering. Monte at its best! But what will the next one be like?
My current box is Aug '06, and I have an unopened box of the same date. Just hope that there are no more plugged sticks. My rating is based solely on tonight's smoke, but readers should be aware of possible inconsistency. Cheers. - Submitted by pacman on November 9, 2007
Review #154: This is a great cigar but the last few boxes have been plugged up garbage. I hope Montecristo cracks the whip on these incompetent rollers because these used to be a sure thing. Now *at least* 50% of the box is unsmokable (even with a draw poker). - Submitted by mladenovic on November 4, 2007
Review #153: To Review #151: You say it is lucky you live in Canada. Canada is a fantastic country, no doubt. But not when it comes to buying Cuban cigars. I have been to Canada many times and I just could not afford to buy Cuban cigars there, with your horrible tax on cigars. I was just there and bought a box of cheap Cuban cigars that cost me C$200. I found them the following week for less than 50 euros (1/3 the price) on the net. Canada is a wonderful country and I would love to live there, but I would hate to pay the taxes placed on the cigar smoker. It may interest you to know that 60% of all Cuban cigars are shipped to Spain. If I lived in Canada I would make a trip to Spain once a year, and assuming you smoke as much as I do, the savings you would have may just pay for your trip. Yes, the savings (Spain is the cheapest place in the world to buy Cuban cigars) would be worth the trip and because Spain is also a very beautiful country.
But Spain has the added attraction of having very low lost Cuban cigars compared to the rest of the world. Viva Canada! Viva Spain! And viva anyplace I can buy Cuban cigars at a decent price. - Submitted by lvancourt on November 2, 2007
