Review #23: Bought some of these beautiful cigars from a 1997 box at Sol Cigar in Oslo. Smoked one yesterday toghether with Delamain cognac and Monsun Malabar coffee. The cigar had a dark reddish wrapper with some small green spots. The construction was perfect. When I lighted up and took the first draw I was overwhelmed by a creamy dark chocolate taste and complex vanilla tones. The balance was absolutely fantastic - this Partagas has really benefitted from 10 years ageing from harvest-time! This was probably the best cigar I have ever tasted. The evening was perfect, Edvard Grieg`s lyric pieces in the background and Knut Hamsun`s Victoria on the table, a Norwegian/Cuban dream night!! If you have some of these cigars in your humidor, my advice is to store some of them for many years. I will give this particular 1997 Partagas 8-9-8 six out of five stars! - Submitted by a.martinsen on September 9, 2005

Review #22: simply perfect! rich and precious flavours, very good combustion, elegant and strong! Wonderful! I smoked it after a meat party in the countryside. - Submitted by altazar on June 27, 2005

Review #21: The stronger and more full-bodied the cigar the better for me - but that\'s my personal taste. I have Cohiba Esplendidos, Siglo 3&5, R&J Churchills (and more) in my straining humidor. But the Dalia size 898 are the best smokes I have - period. Dry and sultry yes but with a rich earthy taste that continues to please. I only bought one box of these - but I\'m going to get some overtime in and buy a couple more! - Submitted by poshjonny on June 17, 2005

Review #20: Luck me that that photo i provided was from a famous website in UK. I don\'t notice the varnishing of the box, as they also have a photo of 898 unvarnished. The 2 boxes i have are exactly like this, except the boxes are varnished perfectly. Sorry for wrong information given. - Submitted by Derek.C. on March 15, 2005

Review #19: To the poster of #18, as you undoubtedly are aware, the term "Barnizados" is a reference to the fact that the presentation box is varnished as opposed to unfinished. The box in the photograph that you have appended is not varnished and therefore you should treat those 898's with some healthy skepticism. - Submitted by A.Dyer on March 12, 2005
