Partagas 8-9-8 Barnizados Review:
This cigar was known for its strong tobacco taste and also strong earthy peppery flavours. The thing is that latest production has been made quite milder. For those who miss the old strong flavours, a possible solution is ageing the cigar properly, because it is presented in a fully varnished box, perfect for maturing the product.

Review #51: One of the 1st havana's I smoked over 20 years ago - bought a box and ended up swapping some of them for fonseca's with a friend. i found them too much and couldn't ever finish a whole one. Recently tried a box of 10 - then another box of 10 and today ordered box of 25. How things change now I would rate this as a better smoke than cohiba, still strong but not too much and ever evolving flavours, absolutely satifying in every way. At the moment it would be difficult to find a more splendid smoke. Hope my new box just ordered maintains my new found love. just a note to mention I am halfway through a box of Boliva Immensa another beautiful havana - but not in the same league at all. - Submitted by ian on June 13, 2007
Review #50: I've had a bit of difficulty with this cigar. Bought a 10 pack last year, and have slowly been working on them. Sometimes good to great, other times lousy - hot, ashy - harsh. Found that at least for me this cigar is very finicky on the size of the cut, just the smallest amount too much makes a world of difference - more so than any other type of cigar I've ever smoked. So, I've gone with a very small diameter cut no more than a 1/4 inch at most. This makes for a very nice, enjoyable smoke, although it is one you have to work for as the draw is a bit of an exercise. But once you get into it, its a good one, over all when right this is a fairly light cigar. Very even and well balanced. With a small cut, burns well & does not get very hot during the last 1/3. Not very complex, mild, but worthy of your time, none the less. So I'll give it a 9 when I've cut it correctly. - Submitted by hoodlum on June 11, 2007
Review #49: A fantastic cigar. Smooth, sweet, tangy, earthy and leathery. This cigar has it all. If it had a little more strength, it would be absolutely perfect. - Submitted by Jimbo on May 30, 2007
