Partagas 8-9-8 Barnizados Review:
This cigar was known for its strong tobacco taste and also strong earthy peppery flavours. The thing is that latest production has been made quite milder. For those who miss the old strong flavours, a possible solution is ageing the cigar properly, because it is presented in a fully varnished box, perfect for maturing the product.

Review #72: Nice smoke from partagas. Maybe smoked it to fast after a copieus meal, first third was ok, second was great, third powerfull. I like partagas (best serie D n°1). But with all those great cigars on the market and the nearby launch of a regular magnum 50 & Epicure especial, the new limited editions with a monte sublime, cuaba piramide and partagas (yes) petit robusto mmmjam mjam, sadly no box of 898 in the close future will be purchased... to be continued - Submitted by Yapi on April 27, 2008
Review #71: Half way through my box from 1998 and not all of them were great, but this one was. Beautifully balanced spice progressing towards a surprising last third with dominant wood notes. - Submitted by kiste on March 16, 2008
Review #70: Smoked an 898 last night from a 12/05 box. Very good smoke that started full with the typical Partagas sweet spice then switched back to medium a quarter of the way in. Flavor and strength went back and forth keeping my attention. This is a very good smoke that will get better with time. - Submitted by jeht2000 on February 27, 2008
Review #69: I had one of these the other day and I wasn't too impressed. Good construction and draw, but lacking that strong Partagas flavor I expected. I will try these again after 6 months in the humidor. Updates to follow. - Submitted by nnjlon2 on February 17, 2008
Review #68: Magnifico cigarro. - Submitted by nacho on February 1, 2008
