Partagas 8-9-8 Sin Barnizar Review:

This cigar, discontinued in the year 2002, is probably the oldest among all Partagas, because old catalogues point out it existed before the Revolution. The main characteristics are that it is strong, with rich flavour and aroma and well balanced.

Review #6: I have had some from the 70's and some from the 90's. All have been real good. They are much more milder than the Varnish, and of course, a smaller vitola. It takes concentration to appreciate the subtle, yet complex tastes. Cedar, honey, and light coffee predominantly. Too bad these are d/c'ed. - Submitted by planetbetter on November 4, 2007

Review #5: smoked one from a 2000 box, perfekt burn very good aromas. Can confirm chocolate taste from reviewer no.4 , very nice - Submitted by bolibeli on March 28, 2007

Review #4: Smoked one of this from an undated box. According to the supplier, it is a 1998 aged cigar. The smoke is surprising smooth unlike the strong character of most Partagas. Very well constructed with a slightly tight draw. I believe the smoke could be better if I have cut instead of punching the cigar. Burnt evenly right till the end with a full body dark chocolate taste. Not for those looking for a strong spicy smooth. A very good cigar for those with time and a cup of strong coffee. - Submitted by pak on July 13, 2006

Review #3: A surprisingly hollow taste. Smelled as boring as most Montecristos unlit. Had a strange, but not unpleasant flavour. It reminded me of watermellon; lots of substance with very, very mild flavour. Not a bad cigar, just a bit strange and light. - Submitted by peanutaxis on April 6, 2005

Review #2: i bought a cabinet of 10 cigrs from free market. nice cigar but last third is kind of harsh. it might need more aging since it made in july/03. i like this cigar but aging is the only problem. - Submitted by fidel on May 10, 2004
