Montecristo Montecristo No. 2 Review:
This Montecristo cigar is something to deal with. Those who prefer this brand, find in this particular model all the virtues from the Cuban brand, and those who do not know it yet, find in this stick the power of the best selling brand in the whole world.

Review #77: The more I smoke these, the less I like them. Dry and hard with bitter aftertaste. Could be the box, but I will likely stay away from M2 awhile. - Submitted by J.D. on March 9, 2005
Review #76: Sorry, I'd like to add to that post. There have been a few batches of Montecristo 2 with darker than normal wrappers, as with some other famous havanas like the Romeo Churchill. By maduro I mean dark compared to light, the 2004 production have very light wrappers. Maduro just means mature (ie grown in the sun for longer), it doesn't have to be specially labelled on the box. Also there was a leathery note to them, not so much a dark leatheryness as a lighter tan leather. Individual taste is different, you should hunt for some with the darker shade of wrapper, I prefer them myself. I bought them a reputed company in the UK. I also have had a couple of 1994 RyJ Churchills which he stocks which had very dark wrappers, absolutely magnifiscent. - Submitted by A.Dyer on March 8, 2005
Review #75: Just returned from Cuba with a trunk full of cigars. The Monte 2 Box I purchased was from 04. The wrapper was a little lighter then one would expect but the flavour was very good and the burn was perfect. I have purchased 4 boxes of these over the years and must say that the quality of Cuban cigars is improving - Submitted by jimcanada on March 8, 2005
Review #74: the 2004 release is gonna be amazing with some age on 'em.... but getting these from the right factory makes all the difference in the world. - Submitted by rascalbadmonkey on March 8, 2005
Review #73: To the poster of Review #71, I am afraid that you may have smoked some counterfeits since the Montecristo No. 2 was never made with a maduro wrapper and "leather" is the one flavour that most connoisseurs would agree is never present in any cigars in the Montecristo line. - Submitted by Shawn Selway on March 1, 2005
