Montecristo Montecristo No. 2 Review:
This Montecristo cigar is something to deal with. Those who prefer this brand, find in this particular model all the virtues from the Cuban brand, and those who do not know it yet, find in this stick the power of the best selling brand in the whole world.

Review #87: I have come full circle with this cigar. See my journey start at review 40 and then progress at review 54. This early \'04 box now has a good year on it. The transformation is complete - a wonderful comples cigar which burned slowly and tasted great all the way through. Smoked it to the nub and washed down with a nice drop of Port it can\'t be beat. Two No.2\'s ago I thought I had wasted my money on a box, not any more, I\'m glad they grace my humidor! - Submitted by Barry McWilliams on April 12, 2005
Review #86: What can i say? Like everyone is saying, the goods ones are fantastic, the bad ones are..well....bad. Ive smoked about 3 in the last couple of weeks, 1 great, 1 sour, 1 just blah and plugged. If you get a good one, cherish every minute you have with it. - Submitted by mprach on April 4, 2005
Review #85: Yes I totally agree with reviewer number 84. It is hit and miss with Monte No 2. Very hard to convince the staff at any of the habanos stores to let you look at the cigars before purchasing. So what can you do. Still they usually smoke OK see my review of the R&J LE2004 if you want a nightmare. Hopefully someone from Habanos reads this site so they can work on their problems. - Submitted by jimcanada on March 31, 2005
Review #84: To reviewer #83, this is just part of the inconsistency everybody is experiencing with Montecristos. Just smoked a #2 from a 2000 box and while it was tasty, it burned badly and had to be relit a number of times. Of the six boxes of #2s I have aging, only 2, perhaps 3, have the dark oily wrapper I look for, and even then the taste might be off. That\'s just the way things are these days. - Submitted by robinottawa on March 31, 2005
Review #83: Factory Code: LOB Date: AUgust \'04
As I monte lover, I was looking forward to my first box of No. 2. I was a little dissapointed when I opened the box. The wrappers were not nearly as oily as all the other Monte\'s I had smoked. The wrap is also pretty loose but they draw and burn well enough. They are not as strong as the Edmundo and have less of the monte flavour. Don\'t know why this is. I was expecting a lot more. I mean they are good and the size is great but they are not as flavouful as i had expected. They are on the young side, but I don\'t see how ageing is going to help. I\'ve smoked several from this box, I ditched one which was very bitter, a couple have been very good indeed and at one point I thought this is THE cigar for me, but overall, they cannot touch the EDmundo for flavour and consistency. - Submitted by peter bond on March 30, 2005
