Review #33: To reviewer #31. You must have had a poor one. I don\'t see an H de M DC coming close to the lusitania in depth or complexity of flavour. Please give these another try, it may be of course that it is the \"type\" of flavour in the H de M you prefer. I think they are very different tastes but in all areas this stick should win so reach for another! - Submitted by peter bond on April 6, 2005
Review #32: Enjoyed one last night watching the NCAA final, accompanied by a good Porter. What a wonderful, flavorful, smoke. I\'ve been smoking some cabinets recently, and they have drawn beautifully, and smoked with good power. I don\'t notice as much change in each third as I do with R&J Churchill, but the flavor is fabulous. - Submitted by tdgordon on April 5, 2005
Review #31: Lots of great reviews tempted me to buy this stick. Setting aside 2 plus hours to smoke it was more difficult than the draw, for this big cigar had no problems pulling. I smoked a cabinet and its very complex in that it shifts 2-3 times during the course of the smoke. The first third is..well..\"ehh\"..its smoke, kinda bland and a bit harsh, some wood notes. Then it shifts, the second third is very sweet, hints of leather are strong, and much to my dismay, almost a citrusy taste but still sweet, then the final third, the road home....put it out when you get here. Spice was mixed horribly with a sour wood aftertaste too cedary for my liking, it didnt make any sense, something was just off and not right and actually kinda ruined my experience, i probably would have rated it an 8 or 9 if it wasnt for the finish. The sour made me think my humidity was too high, so i waited a couple hours and fired up a Monte #4 and it was perfect. So hopefully i gotta bad one but i doubt i\'ll be buying anymore of these when i can buy a Hoyo DC for the same $$$. - Submitted by mprach on April 4, 2005
Review #30: First taste of these. A freebie pack of three from my supplier. The construction was the best I have ever seen in a cuban cigar, A WORK OF ART. I was stunned at how good these taste as well. I have to be a little careful as I get a bit green from too much nicotine, but these, while strong, were not as powerful as I had expected. In any event the flavour blew me away. I would rather smoke half of one of these and leave the rest than smoke a flavourless mild cigar to the nub. If you haven\'t tried these yet - YOU MUST. Pure, perfect Cuban joy. - Submitted by peter bond on March 31, 2005
Review #29: Last weekend after a good meal I lit up a Partagas Lusitanias. I never smoked this one before, but I hardly went in open minded: the reviews on this site are so darn positive, this had to be a good one! And it was! But first things first. The cigar had a nice light brown silky wrapper with some minor veins. The cigar was a little to firm to the touch to my liking, it looked like overfilling. The pre-light draw was also a bit tight, but within acceptable limits. Enough dry analysis: torch-time! It was a bit of work to light the cigar properly, but once lit it burned great. The scent of the cigar is loaded with toffee, the taste has besides toffee a lot of earth. The earth became more present while the cigar evolved. It took me over two and a half hour to finish this one. A truly great cigar, which easily finds a place in my Top 5 Best Smokes Ever! - Submitted by Bolivar on February 28, 2005
