Review #73: This is one of my favorite cigars, though hadn't smoked one for over a month, until last night, that is. It's the arrogant king of Romeo y Julieta; rich and aromatic; as soon as I lit it up, there was the enjoyable earthy flavor, with Cuban twang and smooth strength. The flavor developed, with more complexity and spice, particularly in the second half, when it also picked up strength, though never becoming harsh, until I had to put it down, as my fingers, where getting burnt. Sometimes there are leathery, book notes, in the final third; I didn't notice these, with this, though I was in the pub and by that time; a couple of my mates, where getting, "tired and emotional", one taking my cigar twice and inhaling, before coughing. He doesn't even smoke; be warned, on a friday night, in London, a Churchill, draws attention, to itself, sometimes unwanted. I'll leave the rest of the box, a week to settle, having only received it, from Switzerland, on Thursday. I'm unsure, of when they were produced, as the box code is: UTCCDDE. - Submitted by Amazing on August 12, 2006

Review #72: These used to be the Gold Standard of Churchills. i smoked many from '97-'01 in the Med area - Greece, Turkey, etc. Always great. Have just finished my 5th out of a box of 10 tubos and the RyJ's have slipped. All were very harsh and most were rolled too tight. I let these age for 6 mos. yet thet have failed to mellow. Box dated Feb. '04 - Submitted by JJA on August 6, 2006

Review #71: I have gone through several boxes of these artfully crafted cigars in the past year. I find them to be the perfect blend of a mild start and a strong finish that leaves the smoker with a deep feeling of satisfaction. As I said, these cigars start off tasting like your average medium blend cigar, but at roughly the half way point, these masterpieces begin to show their true colors. The only negative I can think of in these cigars is the inconsistency of the burn. I have had ones that burn perfectly, and others that do not, depending on the box it comes from. All in all, I highly recommend. - Submitted by reidyd1 on August 1, 2006

Review #70: I JUST TRIED ONE CHURCHILL FROM A BOX FROM DTF OCT 04, WHAT A GEM. THE WRAPPERS ON ALL OF THE 10 BOXES WERE VERY DARK CHOCOLATE AND VERY OILY, THEY WERE ALMOST A MADURO BROWN. THE PRELIGHT AROMAS ARE TRULY RYJ AT THEIR BEST. THE FIRST FLAVORS TO HIT YOU ARE THE TRADEMARK RYJ COCOA AND ESPRESSO, WITH VANILLA AND HEAVY IRISH CREAM, THE TOBACCO FLAVORS ARE ALMOST TAMED TO A MILD ROASTED FLAVOR. THE INTOXICATING AND DECADENT VANILLA AND CREAM ARE THE MOST UNFORGETTABLE COMBINATION.THE DECADENT BLACK CHERRY AND HONEY IS MOST SATISFYING, ONCE IT GETS GOING THE ASH WAS ALMOST 3 INCHES LONG BEFORE I ACCIDENTLY KNOCKED IT OFF. THE BURN WAS RAZOR STRAIGHT AND VERY WHITE AND COMPACTED. THESE REMIND ME OF A BOX MY FATHER BROUGHT BACK FROM A TRIP TO SPAIN IN 1996, THE WRAPPERS ON THAT BOX WERE ALMOST AS DARK AND OILY, EVEN AFTER 8 YEARS IN A HUMIDOR, I REALLY THINK THAT THE 67% HUMIDITY IS THE TRICK TO REALLY BRING THE FLAVORS OUT OF THESE CHURCHILLS. THE FEDEX DELIVERY MAN JUST DELIVERED 7 BOXES OF 10COUNT OF THE NEW RYJ SHORT CHURCHILLS, THESE WRAPPERS ARE DARK AND OILY JUST LIKE THE FULL CHURCHILLS, CANT WAIT TO GET ONE LIT, WHAT THE HELL IM LIGHTIN ONE UP RIGHT NOW...... AFEW MINUTES LATER....WOW WOW WOW,WHAT AN UNBELIEVABLE SHORT SMOKE, THE FLAVORS JUST LIKE A FULL CHURCHILL, AND EVEN BETTER THAN AN EXEBITION 3 OR 4..... - Submitted by BIGYESTA on July 13, 2006

Review #69: Great construction, great burn, nice draw. The flavor was complex with a nice touch of pepper. Started off a bit mild but built up for a better than average finish. Considering I paid about $7 for mine I thought it was a hell of a smoke. - Submitted by JohnnyWalkerBlack on June 20, 2006
