Review #147: MAY 06 I think these will get better with a bit more time (kind of astringent, like strong breakfast tea in the 2/3), but they're smoking pretty well right now--still nice and tangy with a wash of flavors focusing themselves for the future. - Submitted by papertowel on June 8, 2010

Review #146: JAN 08 After many years of passing the R y J Churchill up for other cigars, let week I went ahead and scooped one up for myself. I had to give into all of the hype about this particular stick. So, a few days ago, I sat with my fiance (she smoked a Vegas Robaina 'Classico'), and we lit up. From the warming of the tobacco, I could already smelly the deep wood aroma, and my mouth began to water. After toast the foot of the cigar, I dug right into it. The room smelt amazing. Between the Classico and my Churchill, the smell was intoxicating. Smelt of cedar, beans, and creamy wood. WOW. Overwhelming for sure. My churchill smoked with a razor sharp burn. Never once did I have to touchup or relight it. The first 1/3 was full of bean, and spices. I was in love already. Coming closer to the middle of the stick, it began to develop into a more mature cigar. Leaving me with the feeling that I just roasted some coffee beans, and had a hot cup of cocoa. Coming close to the last 1/3 of this cigar, things began to get much stronger, but maintaining the smoothness of a Romeo y Julieta. I smoked this stick down to a tiny nub, and would not let go until I could no longer hold onto the small burning nub of a cigar. I am only sorry that after a couple decades of smoking Cuban cigars, this was my first time smoking a RyJ churchill. I have to rate this stick a solid 9/10. Construction was a bit solid and tight but did not affect the draw at all. The cigar was super robust throughout and matured as I smoked it. The flavours were overwhelming and beautiful. Burn was even, combustion was perfect, and the overall experience was one that I will share with anyone that will listen to me :-) This was all of Saturday. By sunday morning, I ordered 2 boxes of this cigar. They will be here before the end of the week. I plan to enjoy the first box, and age the second. Anyone considering this stick, I can assure you that you will not be disappointed. I am a huge Montecristo man, and stand behind that line. The one other R y J that I can recommend is the Cazadore. It is much stronger than most R y J but is a very complex cigar. I hope that my words will assist others in making a decision to try out the RyJ Churchill someday. Regards, David Sr. - Submitted by thebigd on February 16, 2010

Review #145: JAN 00 New to the Cigar world , wanted the biggest cigar Sheffield & Son's had. Purchased this & a Montecristo #4. Smoked this last night in the hot tub with a glass of 12 year old Scotch. I found this cigar very pleasant at first with the common attributes to this cigar. I did have to relight it 4 times in about an hour. I found this cigar very mild & hard to get a good draw from (tight & long). I was fully prepared mentally to smoke this cigar & it still took a lot of work. Not a lot of smoke out of it .Overall i wasn't to happy with it, but I am not going to give up on it yet. The only reason I am not happy with is basically the price. @ $36 a tube I have had better experiences with other RyJ - Submitted by Sutton on January 24, 2010

Review #144: ---   What to say about this piece of art...It is all what one superior cuban cigar must to be-It is strong, it is manful, it is rich...It is just beautiful experience of all senses, and for them, this Romeo & Julieta is every time, just like for the first time explosion of enjoyment...And on the end of this my review, trough wich I amount my judgment that this cigar is the best cigar ever, I just want to say that this cigar is choosen by James Bond, who is ikon of stile, who is selector and lover of the best things, who is the symbol of all superior, he chose it like present for his everlasting secretary Monepany...what else to say..... - Submitted by Marcowind on January 2, 2010

Review #143: ---   Smoked my first Churchill on Xmas day. Unknown age as purchased as a single but I had aged it for over 3 years. Overall I was a little dissapointed. Well constructed, smoked well and provided a smooth smoke. However, typical R&J flavours were a little subdued and other than becoming harsh in the last 3rd, there weas no flavour development at all. Nil complexity. I have smoked better tasting mille fleurs. - Submitted by swan25 on December 26, 2009
