Review #17: This was an excellent smoke!I got a stick from a cabinet in a sampler I bought. Not sure of the date, but it had a beautiful veinless Colorado maduro wrapper already covered in bloom.Once lit,it had strong coffee and cocoa flavors from the door.About the halfway point,it got really creamy and leathery with a dash of spice and a slight tanginess.Left an elegant hour long finish after I nubbed it.Do yourself a favor and try this one out. - Submitted by afuentelover on May 14, 2006
Review #16: Mmm delicious. Just recieved an April '01 cab from Geneva and even though they were a little too moist from their trip I could't help myself. Rich, musky Cuban tobacco aromas eminate from the box; all wonderfully constructed with great wrappers bordering on colorado-maduro. I picked the one with the weakest construction (save the best for later), which was still well rolled, and lit it up in the garden. Smooth, creamy and extremely well balanced flavours of woods, coffee and light tan leather with a hint of Upmann esque musk. The spice builds a little in the second half and notes of fresh baked gingerbread added themselves. The cigar started off medium bodied, medium flavour with the strength just about touching full into the final third. A great lazy Summers day smoke, rich and fairly complex but the flavours are so balanced that they are harder to pick out (though the extra moistness will have affected that also). The price is right too. Perfect for newish smokers looking for something with more class, flavour and of a generous size, and excellent for experienced palettes to seriously enjoy in the afternoon. One of the best coronas gordas you will find. - Submitted by A. Dyer on May 12, 2006
Review #15: Found a cab of these (ABR01) buried down deep while rearranging the Avallo over the holidays - and what a find it turned out to be. An absolutely DELICIOUS smoke, flavorful, balanced and smooth, great construction. And looking back at what I paid for these - what a BARGAIN !!! Highly recommend looking for a cab with a few years on it - they are out there and well worth your effort. A great bang for the buck. - Submitted by DocRKS on January 21, 2006
Review #14: Well made cigar, pleasant to behold. Smokes smoothly, and burns evenly. Not as much flavor as I had hoped for, but I will let them age for a bit and hopefully they will become more complex. - Submitted by mick on January 19, 2006
Review #13: I JUST PURCHASED 2 CABS FROM MY SUPPLIER IN SPAIN, CODE JMZ JUL 03, WHAT A CIGAR, THERE WAS A LAYER OF BLOOM FORMING ON THE TOP LAYER INSIDE THE CABINET. THE PRELIGHT AROMAS TRULY CUBAN. THE INTOXICATING AND DECADENT AROMAS THAT ARE TRULY JUAN LOPEZ ARE EVIDENT FROM THE VERY FIRST PUFF.
I WAS TOTALLY IMPRESSED WITH THE BLOOM FORMING ON THE TOP LAYERS, THAT I ORDERED 8 MORE CABINETS FOR STORAGE.
I AM FINISHING A CABINET THAT I PURCHASED A FEW MONTHS AGO FROM MY SUPPLIER IN HONGKONG, BOX CODE IS THE SAME, THE DECADENT AND INTOXICATING JUAN LOPEZ FLAVORS ARE FANTASTIC. THEY ARE ROLLED AS TIGHT AS A BRICK WITH AN ALMOST PERFECT DRAW. THE ONLY DIFFERENCE I NOTICED FROM ONE CABINET TO THE OTHER IS THE WRAPPER COLORS, VARYING FROM DEEP DARK CHOCOLATE TO AN ALMOST VERY LIGHT BLACK COLOR. THE BLOOM ON THE TOP LAYERS IS TRULY A SIGHT TO BEHOLD.
IF YOU CAN GET THESE FROM 01,02, OR 03 BUY ALL YOU CAN. YOU WONT REGRET IT. - Submitted by BIGYESTA on October 21, 2005
