Trinidad Robusto Extra Review:
The biggest cigar of the 3 new trinidad format. This is considered as a star cigar. Much like the Fundadore, they impress with their elegance and finesse rather than pure power. This is a cigar for someone looking for flavor and complexity. Cigar Aficionado Rating - Robusto Extra 95

Review #59: Far too mildly flavoured, far too weak. If there's subtley in there, then it's too subtle for me. However, it is beautifully made, a pleasure to hold, smokes nicely, is a bit dry and dusty but does produce volumes of nicely aromatic smoke.
there is a touch of sweet ginger and cinnamon in there, but it would be pushing things to call it spice.
hard for me to find a score, it's not a cigar I'd buy often, but for a very mild smoke it's well made, but there are mild cigars with a more complexity than this.
If CA gave it 95 then that just shows how much they overmark on looks, construction and draw. Which perhaps is how it should be, if this cigar has the flavour you like, then it's a 95 or more. if not, then the mark might as well be zero. nobody can tell you, certainly not self-appointed 'experts'. you have to try one.
But add the price to the equation then I'd regrettably say this cigar just isn't worth it. On each occasion I've smoked one, within minutes I'm looking to smoke something else. At Trini prices, it has to be the centrepiece of an evening's smoke. - Submitted by krafty on May 3, 2008
Review #58: In my opinion, this cigar is under rated. I lit one of these, sitting in my humidor since November 06. What a pleasure. The wrapper is sublime, the burn even as no other.Very nice draw due to the gauge of a module like this. You need time and special attention to really savour of the subtility of canonazo. - Submitted by Amadou on March 12, 2008
Review #57: This is really a great cigar. Got a box from JUL 07 a few weeks ago and could not resist the temptation to try it. The wrapper was a sight to behold, as was the draw and construction which were all flawless. I am usually more inclined to fuller-bodied cigars, but as many have said, the aroma and incredibly layered flavoring of this cigar more than compensate. One of the few that lives up to the hype! - Submitted by jsummers157 on February 7, 2008
Review #56: Thicker gauge vitolas from blends as Trinidad’s are usually not designed as very complex and full bodied (too much Volado leafs for my taste). That’s why I never anticipate too much from this kind of cigars. This one I smoked today was nice looking, though a bit veinier than others from my box of 12 (IKR NOV 05). First few puffs started with mild, spicy undertone which soon transformed to more rounded and smooth smoke. Cigar was little underfilled and with low drawing frequency I tried to prevent overheating. Until the last third this Robusto Extra remained rather linear, with unexciting flavors of wood and earth. Nevertheless this is not boring or one dimensional cigar. Presence of spicy undertone and bit of harsh ending indicate that there is some room for improvement over time. Usually I drink alcoholic drinks with my cigars but I found out that for this blend Chinese green tea is the best mach. - Submitted by Diademo on January 21, 2008
- Submitted by nacho on November 18, 2007
