Montecristo Montecristo C LE 2003 Review:
The Habano to enjoy on memorable occasions. For those smokers faithful to the Montecristo nature, quite a benchmark for most knowledgeable smokers. This production incorporates for the first time the new Montecristo band, designed so as to enhance the elegant presentation of the brand.

Review #27: Bought 3 of these back in 03 when they came out... Smoked one right away, wich was all about bitterness and lack of balance... Waited 4 and a half years to try the next one... The bitterness was gone, but yet, this cigar is not a blockbuster... Very smooth (too much for a Monte??), not real Cuban caracter... Like an overoaked (although the flavours are not too overwhelming...) wine that stops being true to its' terroir, too 'international'... I doubt these will get any better with more aging... Just a mistake from Habanos SA, a cigar that lost its' soul to a merchandising campaign... - Submitted by Smokin' Phil on April 21, 2008
Review #26: I've been looking forward to smoke this Montecristo which I got as a gift from my English supplier at the end of the last year. Altogether I’ve tried five or six in last couple of years and I have mixed feelings. Cigar was looking nice, firm and Maduro wrapper was nothing special. I didn’t have problems with slightly tight draw and overall construction was rather good. From the beginning cigar demonstrated strength with full bodied character but I couldn’t get any interesting flavors. There was presence mostly of wood and cardboard. I was waiting for any significant changes but there was just strength and taste of charred wood with very dry finish. At last third I noticed leather and earthy flavors which I was hoping to get much earlier. Unfortunately I have to say that this was another one dimensional, mediocre cigar. High price is definitely not the only reason for bad selling results of this EL. - Submitted by Diademo on April 16, 2008
Review #25: Bought a box recently Ago 03. I had heard rumblings that these unloved EL's had finally turned the corner. There smokable but thats about it. No real complexity, an ok smoke but I wont be reaching for another anytime soon. My 06 Monte #2's are far better cigars. All in all dissapointing cigar given their age. We will see if they develop into anything special with more age but I doubt it.

Review #24: Great, smooth, and relaxing cigar. Only complaint (a big one) is that it lasted only 30-40 min. - Submitted by traded on August 7, 2007
Review #23: I have smoked a few of this babies and I have to say it is one of the best productions of limited edition stocks for 2003 from Cuba. Had some rich medium cocoa and roasted coffee, with earth and spice notes and heavy aromas. I am itching to buy a box. - Submitted by halithug on April 17, 2007
