Some people will be eating their words with this one. Not only is it a fantastic cigar now, with some age it will be doubly so. Mark my words, about the time these start getting hard to find they will be getting ripe and the buying rush will be on. I'll be sitting fine too because I got my 6 boxes now at $350 each before the price skyrockets. I'm not sure why the guys below got their cigars from but mine are top notch all the way and are smoking better than my Cohiba DC's... - Submitted by WarriorPro on May 23, 2004

I'm not a great fan of Montecristo so what posessed me to spend the money on this poor cigar I can't tell you. Little taste to start of with developing into melting road surface in the second half. Very poor. - Submitted by willisoften on April 12, 2004

Review #5:

Strangely, despite its wonderful aspect with its new montechristo band, this limited corona gorda is rather disappointing. Very similar to the Montechristo A, it lack of complexity is a strong handicap. If the first third is tasteless, this cigar tends to become acid as from the second third. In my opinion, the best corona gorda remain the Magnum 46 and the Partagas D. No 3 (LE 2001). - Submitted by Epicurien on March 4, 2004

Had my first one today and what a let down (even without factoring the big price tag). Had no taste to start and was a little on the acidic side after the halfway point. Maybe in a year it will shape up. Rather have a Serie D #3 anyday! - Submitted by blumby on December 11, 2003
