Review #23: I have smoked a few of this babies and I have to say it is one of the best productions of limited edition stocks for 2003 from Cuba. Had some rich medium cocoa and roasted coffee, with earth and spice notes and heavy aromas. I am itching to buy a box. - Submitted by halithug on April 17, 2007
Review #22: After properly aging these cigars for over a year in my humidor, I was very disappointed with the overall smoke. With all of the hype, I expected more but this cigar lacks depth, flavor and strength especially for a Limited Edition. I fired up a few to celebrate the purchase of my new home. What a let down! I had to revert back to my stock of Monty 2s which were great. I strongly advise that buyers beware because you maybe very disappointed with this cigar. - Submitted by Kathleen on July 29, 2006
Review #21: Second review of this tasty cigar. May I say first that if you are not getting much flavour from the cigar then no doubt it is overly humidified and too young. You should put them away at 65% rh for 6 months minimum before smoking. You will be greeted with rich, creamy flavours which have the distinctive bitter-sweet Montecristo profile but with some darker notes, often found in ELs such as dark cocoa and espresso notes. Little spice until the second half where it builds minimally. These smoke right to the nub and are medium-full in flavour and medium in body. Delicious smokes and will benefit greatly from long maturing. - Submitted by A. Dyer on July 8, 2006
Review #20: Smoke one today and immediately bought a box for collection. The draw is great and second half of the cigar was absolutely great. Very refine taste of coffee with a no so over powering finish. One of my best smoke lately. - Submitted by pak on July 4, 2006
Review #19: I know it's hard to make an absolute opinion about a cigar having only smoked one stick, but here goes. I purchased this one stick from the LCdH in TJ and let it rest in my humi for two weeks. Very nice pre-light aromas. The draw was a little tight, even with some massaging. First third lacked flavor all together. Some flavors started to show during the rest of the cigar, but nothing came forward to really hit my pallette. Overall, not what I would call a great EL. I didn't get the box code when I picked it up, so maybe this was going through a "sick" period. I guess I would rather save $150 and buy a box of #2's, which I have enjoyed far more than this cigar. I'll have to try a few more singles before deciding to buy a box. - Submitted by jcwbnimble on April 18, 2006
