Review #125: Way overrated, did I say something wrong? Bought one from a reputable retailer. Construction was beatiful, unlit aroma was good, draw a bit hard. I lit the cigar and was expecting the best smoke around. Had my best drink, it was a lonely, full moon night, late hours. It was the perfect ocasion. Draw well after lighting, a light sweet taste the first 2/3, very boring also, taste was monotonous, roasty with some coffee. So whats wrong? It was monotonous all the way, got tired of it the first third. Had to smoke the rest because it cost me 30 dollars. Did I get a fake? maybe my palate is not made for this one? I really need to see a psicologist. I went into shock after seeing so many good reviews for this and I did not experience the same thing. Followed all the rules, puffs every 30 secs, not burning too much, perfect cut, good drink, good setting. Something was missing, anyone help... - Submitted by paraord1425 on May 2, 2009

Review #124: Reviews like yours Danny are what makes this site great! Thank you for your post #122 it was a very educational. - Submitted by maalouly on February 17, 2009

Review #123: FEB 08 This isn't going to be a review of the Cohiba Sublime EL 2004, but, instead a paean to the many others out there that rely on this site for it's very useful information as well as the 99.9% that use it with the respect it deserves. five or six years ago, the fine folks that ran this site tried to keep "reviews" such as #119 out of here, and it's too bad to see it here again. If one of us gets hold of a counterfeit batch of Habanos, and I would bet that, again, 99.9% have done just that, we would already feel pretty crappy about it, and would post here to try and educate, as well as solicit advice on the counterfeit cigars as well as (hopefully) the counterfeiter as well. Using the same, although optimistic, percentage, 99.9% of us out here would never respond to a review telling the reviewer that he/she is "a joke", and tell them to "go home" If reviewer number 119 ever gets hold of a counterfeit box of Cuban cigars, I sincerely hope none of the rest of us would respond to him like that. One added comment...regarding the point he not too subtly makes on the taster's likes and dislikes, the are all OPINIONS...that is a critic or reviewer's only job...to say what that movie, book, or cigar meant to them. So, if someone thinks a cigar should get a 10 out of 10 score, whether the cigar is from Cuba, or in his or her basement, it's merely what they thought of the cigar...especially when the reviewer say right up front that even if the cigar is counterfeit, he loved it and would buy more if he could. I have smoked a few cigars that had to be classified as a Cuban puros, because a factory worker has snatched a handful of filler leaves, binder leaves, and a bunch of wrappers and made a box or two at home. In more than a few occasions I've thought they were actually better than the ones I would buy with the warranty label on them...let's face it, the men and women that do this are the artists that produce our smokes...day in and day out, so if they are making a few at home, they wouldn't be on a supervisor's clock and would have all the time they wanted to make a pretty damn good cigar! Once again, I apologize for the length of my posts...give me a soapbox, albeit electronic, and look out! Very best regards, Danny - Submitted by dlctwice on February 11, 2009

Review #122: SEP 04 Hi...The Sublime is, IMHO, a truly great, and unique cigar. I reviewed it a couple times a couple years back, and my first reviews brought some very interesting (but hard for me to read) feedback from the very knowledgeable members of this outstanding review board. I let my guard down, and in my (lust?) to get some of these, I bought 5 boxes that were coded LOME-FEB-04. I was SO pleased with myself, getting these boxes so early in the year, as well as the very good price I paid for them! Bummer! I was inadequately schooled, and did not know that EL's are never released until about halfway through the year, sometimes later. (I also found out that the factory code LOME has not been used for the El Laguito factory since the year 2000. Please, please, don't mistake this information for anything other than what it is intended for...education only! Not a hint of malice, I just want to hopefully prevent someone from making the same extremely costly mistake I made! I am writing this because I was reading some reviews written by a person on this board whose reviews I love to read, and came across review #44 by this person, and the review states that they bought some with the date of 2006. I hate to say this, but all EL's are boxed starting, as I said, about halfway through the calendar year, and sometimes the brand will, depending on available wrapper stock, be able to manufacture a short time into the next year (I have a box of Cohiba EL '03 Double Coes that are dated FEB-04), but that's it. I've read quite a few reviews where people are smoking Sublimes that are coded as late as '08, and it just can't happen. Again, I hope I have not offended anyone, as that is surely not my intent, nor is it my desire to come across as a snotty know-it-all...so, I sincerely hope I have not done that. I have certainly had more than my share of counterfeits, and it is because of them that I write this. In closing, all I can say is that know your source(s) the best you can, the hardest part for me was trying to 'let it go'...unfortunately, as Habanos become more and more popular, so do counterfeiters. Very best regards, Danny Carlson - Submitted by dlctwice on February 9, 2009

Review #121: To all of you who buy boxes with 2006, 2007, 2008 EL:s..... Those ARE fakes!!!! 2004 is the ONLY cohiba sublime EL on the current market! A fake is a fake even on Cuba. And if you keep buying them, you support the market who distributes fakes. And it will only lead to higher prices for the REAL ones. I don't care if you think they taste good. It will never be like the REAL ones, and I know that I'm far from alone with these thoughts. I want to enjoy my REAL sublime with a nice glass of spiced rum. Knowing that it's a supreme, expensive and exclusive cigar, but doesn't cost a shit load of money just because there are people who buy FAKES, knowing it's a FAKE, just because it's cheap.... Please! We should absolutely enjoy cheaper cigars, but never FAKES! - Submitted by kimmen on February 9, 2009
