Review #91: reviewer 81. Limited editions are only made for one year so if the band is 2006 than they are not authentic. I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure that's a dead giveaway. Sorry friend. The good news is that you like them so who cares if they are not authentic. - Submitted by traded on November 30, 2007
Review #90: well, Jimgrotto, I can only help you by making the doubt even bigger ;-) I was in Havana the 15th of november, and I visited the Casa Del Habano in calle Mercaderes, Habana vieja. And amongst the new maduro line were the sublimes 2006. They also looked damn real to me (the only thing was that the limited edition band '2006' had a very different type of print than all the other Limited editions I now) and the fact that they were sold in an official Casa Del Habano didn't make my doubt smaller. I just read lots of reviews before I went and I also followed cigar magazines from close. And I didn't buy one. It was to tricky in my opinion. I asked the vendor about it and he was very shallow... the price was tagged in handwrighting whereas the other price tags were machine typed. There was also mentioned on the box equal to the 'HABANOS' band that it was '5th anniversary'. After we came back from Trinidad the week after I checked it again and the box was gone. Maybe your doctor bought them! I don't know, if they were fakes I sure would be dissapointed in La Casa Del Habano calle mercaderes. If they were real and official, its a well kept secret. I go for fakes... Oh, by the way, best boughts I made in Cuba after visiting 10 CDH were Cohiba double coronas 2003 (23 of them, for 21 $ a piece) cohiba reservas 2003 (only 400$!) and a full box of R&J hermosos n2 for only 8$ a piece. mjam mjam - Submitted by Yapi on November 30, 2007
Review #89: The only 2006 released from Cohiba was a piramide. I will leave my review of that on the Cohiba piramide page.
I own a box of sublimes, however, they say 2004. I think that this is a pretty good cigar. There are many earthy/coffee flavors with this cigar, however, I was surprised that the cigar did not open up like its older brother the double corona (DC). By the end of the stick, the DC was heavy raw dark chocolate, mulled spices, and unroasted coffee. The sublime did not end like this, however, it does have a nice opening. Strong, thick, leather notes. Very Earthy as well, until the middle of the stick. For me it got lost after that. Again, it was not a bad cigar, but I will give it a try in another 3-5 years. - Submitted by elric2002 on November 29, 2007
Review #88: To jimgrotto: if they look good, feel good and smoke good then enjoy them. Trust me, fakes TASTE and FEEL very different. - Submitted by Uncle on November 29, 2007
Review #87: To reviewer #81, they are not Sublimes if they say Edicion Limitada 2006 on the lband. Sublimes wee only produced for the 2004 production year. Sorry, but I doubt they are real. On the other hand though, if tey are good smokes, then who cares unless you paid over $500.00.
One other question, are they pyramide in shape as Cohiba did make an LE 2006, but it was a pyramid shaped cigar. Let us know! - Submitted by Rich Golodner on November 29, 2007
