Review #230: AUG 07 bought five of these cigars the box was 2007 which i heard is the best year of recent for this smoke. i can say one thing it is a very reliable smoke and a perfect size for myself. smoked all five and they were rather nice i can see why people like them. hit and miss. - Submitted by edgy1985 on January 3, 2010

- Submitted by jorjis on October 28, 2009

Review #227: ---   Unlit, the smell does nothing to indicate what is to come. Has a very light fuzz along the entire wrapper. Good construction overall and fantastic burn; I doubt I could get it to burn unevenly if I tried. The draw was as perfect as I could ever ask for. I have to say, there was only one word to describe the flavour: leather. This was a fine cigar any way you look at it, but I was certainly expecting more complexity than I got. There was no coffee, cocao, woodiness, or any other overtones, subtle or otherwise. Just leather. In some ways, this was disappointing; I was hoping for a longer version of a Monte #5, which by my experience, this is not. I understand this cigars popularity and believe it to be an excellent example of a decent habano. - Submitted by Ned on October 26, 2009

Review #226: --- 08 Smoked two of these from two different boxes of 10, one from 2007, one from 2008 in the past few weeks. Both had pretty poor construction: tight draw, uneven burn, even an exploding wrapper. I was asking for it with the last one, selected it because of its tightly packed appearance. In a Trinidad, this would mean a perfect draw, but in an MC no4, I was waiting for a clenched-cheeks experience. It did not disappoint. After a gentle massage, then a chiropractic adjustment with an east european intensity, i rolled up the sleeves and pulled out a bbq poke. The cheeks unclenched, reluctantly. Leather, oak, a hint of earth, and some chocolate rewarded my relentless efforts - every now and again. Pity about the lopsided burn. Overall, I would not recommend these to anyone unless you can inspect each and every cigar first. Good luck with that... - Submitted by frenchkiwi on October 11, 2009
