Vegas Robaina Unicos Review:

Its tremendous ageing potential makes this smoke something special. Its taste is quite similar to that of Don Alejandro, half way between medium and strong is balanced in great harmony with subtle sweet, woody and earthy notes.

JUN 07 Great Cigar! Good mixture of flavours and excellent construction, Well balanced not too tight and not too loose. Fantastic chocolate presence, perfect for an after dinner smoke that goes well with the end of the wine and a large Brandy to finish the evening with a classy touch. Καπνίζω μια παλιοσειρά του 2005. Το άρωμα με είχε φτιάξει από πριν, ανοίγοντας το κουτί και παίρνοντας μια γενναία τζούρα. Φανταστική γεύση! Πολύπλοκη αλλά πολύ ισορροπημένη, κρεμμώδης και χορταστική. Καφές, σοκολάτα, δέρματα, ξυλώδη και καβουρδισμένα μπαχαρικά, φορτία ανακατεμένα αλλά ευδιάκριτα. Τα όμορφα πούρα, όμορφα καίγονται, κι αν είχα λεπτότερα δάχτυλα, θα ‘χα καπνίσει περισσότερο από το ένα εκατοστό που άφησα στο τέλος, από αυτή την πυραμίδα-δυναμίτη. - Submitted by cipu on March 11, 2009

Haven't tried the Don Alejandro, but was very impressed with the Unicos. Was recommended to me in Habanos shop in Trinidad. Really reminded me of the Montecristo no. 2. Was so impressed I took a box home with me. One minus is that it seems to get bitter too early. I like to smoke a cigar pretty low, but can't seem to do it with this one. APR 08 Vegas Robaina once again shows the cigar world that his home grown tobacco rates up there with the finest cuban cigars. The Unico is a special treat, different from all other torpedo cigars. Medium to full body cigar, well constructed, with an awesome draw. This cigar has the unique Robaina flavor of earth, floral undertones with hints of sweet rum. Glad I finally invested in a box. If your tired of the same old topedo like the monte 2 or bolivar belicoso finos give the Unico a try, I assure you you will not be disappointed. - Submitted by galva on January 31, 2009
