Review #12: This cigar is not a beauty, with it's veins and dry-to-the-eye wrapper. But for it's price, you cannot expect more I guess. It is by far one of cheapest Cubans around. The packaging also doesn't cloak it's price: they come in a cardboard box containing 5 cigars each. When you order a box of 25, you simply get 5 boxes of 5! But since I bought these as 'inbetween cigars', that actually doesn't matter much. What does matter is the taste it delivers and the way it smokes! Let's start with that last one. It lights up easy and burns nice and even ... for the first half or so. When the ash start building up, some tunnelling occurs. And it will keep doing so until you put it to rest. I smoked a couple of these now and they all had the same problem. Needless to say that a smoke which causes continuous concern regarding the burn is a bit annoying. The draw is good, not too loose and not too tight, although the wrapper could be a bit more tight. Now the most important factor: the taste. Personally I like a cigar which delivers thick, creamy smoke. This one unfortunately doesn't. They deliver flat smoke with a simple, one dimensional taste. Don't get me wrong, the taste is not unpleasant. It's just simple. The remark made by cigars-review on the Cazadores actually covers my opinion on the Conservas: 'You are getting what you paid for... an okay cuban cigar'. - Submitted by Bolivar on November 15, 2004

Review #11: Bought a pack of five, all were a bit veiny with some minor differencies on the wrapper color (not a problem for me). A bit of pepper and earth on the flavor and a discreet final and aftertaste (it won't survive to a chewing gum/toothpaste attack). Smoother than the expected for this size and ring and me being a rookie, I liked this cigar. Of course that being about €1 each helps also :) As reviewer #10 stated, have your lighter near, they do tend to burn uneven. - Submitted by Tartulho on October 26, 2004

Review #10: Well, still in nirvana! I just smoked Conservas and my grandmotherīs herbs and flowers are still living! (Some cowboy just bured his booths at the campfire). Heard some rumours JLPīs are made cutoffs of some proud cigarmakers, if so I accept. Nice evenig and nice cigar. PS dont forget your lighter, the burn is sometimes uneven. - Submitted by rookie on October 21, 2004

Review #9: Although I'm a regular smoker of JLP cigars, it took me some time to define the Conservas, comparing to Petit Cetros or Cremas. Certainly, the Conservas are smoother, like a discreet reminder of the far more expensive H. Upmann cigars. They also look well and the draw is excellent. But I think they lack personality and punch. For their dimensions, they're too smooth and the flavors are quite flat. Not one of my favorites. - Submitted by Razvan Voncu on September 16, 2004

Review #8: I am not sure why this size is rated higher than the Cazadore. IMHO, it has far more manufacturing flaws. - Submitted by poupon on July 13, 2004
