Review #29: I had a real struggle with the first box I bought. In many the draw was terrible. A first aid massage did not help. Even an emergency thoracotomy with a metal spike was in vain. The result was a sour taste and chapped lips. However I bought a second box having smoked a single I bought. This was leathery and peppery towards the end. It had that SLR taste that is quite individual. This is a cigar that needs to be kept at low humidity, 63-65. Like every decent cigar it repays those who can wait, preferably years. - Submitted by monteman on November 1, 2007

Review #28: Just finished a St Luis Rey Series A from box code Nov 06. Fantastic smoke with flawless construction. Perfect draw and burn. Cuban flavors abound! A St Luis Rey makes my day.... - Submitted by rocketman on October 26, 2007

Review #27: I smoked an 05 last week, my first experience with SLR. This cigar is nothing but bitter coffee taste. The burn is perfect and draw is excellent, but the taste is a challenge for me. I know it is old school taste for cuban cigar but it is just too much for my taste bud. No my type of cigar - Submitted by pak on January 12, 2007

Review #26: I cracked open a box of 02 SLR A's tonight, and boy am I glad I did. One of my all-time favorites, this cigar started off with hints of cedar. About 1/3 the way through, very nice and welcome hints of tobacco came to join the party. Yum. Then out of nowhere, loads of spice come barging in to let me know I needed to strap in for the rest of it. Needless to say, my fingers are still recovering from the burn after nubbing this bad boy. The construction was flawless. I tried to ash it after about an inch of lovely silver and black ash formed and I couldn't! The wrapper was a very attractive dark caramel color. Not too oily either. Draw was perfect in my opinion and the aroma of the smoke was intoxicating. This cigar will never let you down. - Submitted by ToddziLLa on May 8, 2006

Review #25: A friend of mine brought me from Cuba some SLR Doble Coronas, which I'll review after some more experiences. But right now I'm smoking an outstanding SLR Serie A, from a box of outstanding SLR Serie A's. Previuously, I haven't smoked many corona gordas, maybe because they are hard to find, comparing to the more popular churchills and robustos. But these smokes are a true gem. They burn well, providing a satisfying amount of smoke. Flavors are sober and harmonious: Cuban tobacco, leather, woody notes... The aftertaste is (as reviewer No. 21 has already stated) very pleasant. I smoked many of these beauties with a Nepal Masala Spicetea. They go well together. - Submitted by Razvan Voncu on May 2, 2006
