Review #34: I hardly ever give up on a brand, and I'm especially glad I didn't with Saint Luis Rey. Every stick I'd had of this marque before today was blah, either dull and muted or nasty and metallic. I was worried because I got that metallic taste for the first few puffs of the '03 Serie A I smoked today...but it dissipated and WOW! I was left with an incredibly balanced and rounded-tasting cigar with plenty of coffee, cocoa, vanilla, and tinge of exotic wood all against smooth, medium-bodied toasted tobacco...I almost thought it was a mis-labelled Cohiba Siglo IV! A wonderful experience with this sleeper brand. - Submitted by Black Plague on January 5, 2008

Review #33: To Review#32...I of course am not offended. And I agree that the smell of this cigar is very sweet and very nice. Its just not my cup tea. I can see why someone would love this cigar but my personal taste is different. Some like chocolate ice cream and some like vanilla. I like a cigar that is very spicy like a good Bolivar or partagas. Or one that is intense like the petite Edmundo I love those! When I see someone who says a Bolivar Belicoso was boring or one dimensional I think do they have taste buds? but its all about that persons personal taste. - Submitted by sticksmoker on November 22, 2007

Review #32: review 31,I don't wanna offence you and say you are wrong, but SLR is the best cigar when smell it. So beautiful, so sweet, what a beauitful cigar it is!!! - Submitted by jeddit on November 17, 2007

Review #31: I don't want to be to harsh on my review because it is a good cigar but not my taste. I bought a box Nov 06 same as reviewer #30 but my view is different. This cigar is lite very smooth and starts of very dusty and woody. The cigar does get good but not until the last third then you get some licorice and very subtle honey. If you like your cigars very smooth and are the kind of cigar smoker who wants to really have to close your eyes and think hard about what you are tasting then this is a cigar for you. But if you are more like me and want to be punched in the mouth with raw spicy tangy Cuban flavor like a Bolivar or Partagas then this may not be your cigar. I will say the construction is perfect the wrapper incredibly smooth. I would when is comes down to it rather smoke a more powerful smoke. - Submitted by sticksmoker on November 15, 2007

Review #30: The St Luis Rey Series A is one of the best corona gorda's. The wrapper is silky smooth with beautiful carmel/brown color. The draw and burn are perfection. Taste of caramel, honey and cedar, cuban tobacco flavors abound. This is a must for every humidor. Box code is Nov 06, fantastic smoke right out of the box. - Submitted by rocketman on November 8, 2007
