While I agree that these do lose any in yer face Punch 'bite' they might have when aged(as in 5 or so yrs), the stick opens up with a much more refined profile. Young, they taste- well- young. Some prefer that and that's great. My thoughts? Just compare a 5 yr old SS#2 with one aged 10 yrs. Day and night. I'd jump all over an 11 with 6 years on it before a freshie any day of the week. i had a cab of these from 2000 and they also had faded in flavor. there was still enough substance to enjoy but just barely. i think the flavor fading happens in this brand. best smoked from 2-5 years imho. - Submitted by ss396 on July 10, 2006

Review #12:

Bought a cab of 25 year old No11's from reputable swiss dealer. Had great expectations. The bundle smelt of champagne and cigars looked good although a little dry. I was swept away with the dealers view of how they would taste. I purchased them for a holiday in the south of France, luckily I took some Cohiba V's and some 15 year old Punch Punch wich saved the day. Unfortunately age had spent these No11's into slightly bitter sticks with very little flavour, dissapointing every time. I have 10 left and keep them for novice visitors who cant tell the difference. I am of a view that most cuban cigars over 12 years old begin to fade and that those who talk of the finess older cigars have to offer are justfying their money and patience. This is a finely cradfet Corona Gorda, and one of my favorites. It usually has dark, silky, chocoloatey wrappers. Most of the time the construcion is excellent without any plugged spots. Unfortunately, there are a few around 3-4 in every cabinet, cigars which are plugged and hard to smoke. The taste of this cigar is smoother than the Punch Punch, more refined. I just received my first box of these cigars. This wonderful experience started when I opened the box for the first time. These dark brown beauties lay naked, all in perfect condition with no defects (only from 25 had some small green spots). After inspection and relocating them to my humi, I had to try one. I poured myself a double Johnny Walker Swing …….what a great smoke: good looking, feels good, lights easy, draws smooth with hints of cedar, vanilla and nuts.
