Partagas Habaneros Review:

The medium tobacco taste is now blended with subtle earthy and peppery flavours, which gives this cigar an ordinary taste, but this does not mean that the taste is bad. The minimum recommended ageing for this cigar is at least 2 years. Strength 3/5.

Review #23: JUL 17 Currently working my way through a box from 2017, and 'working' is the operative word. Flavors start off rich, sweet and delicious, with clouds of dense smoke, but at the halfway point, or sometimes earlier, construction issues begin to plague me. The puro wants to tunnel, or canoe, or go out again and again. Invariably the flavor turns a little empty and sour, but that could just be from multiple relights. I don't understand it. Maybe just got a bad batch. Humidity is spot on for my other ccs, and it doesn't seem to matter whether I smoke the Habaneros indoors or outdoors. Never had such consistent QC problems with a box of ccs before. Makes me a little leery of other cheaper vitolas, and wonder whether the ones that used to be machine-made, like these, are given less attention in the factory than vitolas that were always hand-rolled, like the Shorts. - Submitted by odobenus on November 24, 2019

Review #21: JUN   TEO JUN 17. Only 3 months old and fresh off the truck, these things were already great. All the characteristic partagas profile, complexity and development. I've smoked 3 from the 2 boxes I got, since they came in yesterday, and all have been delightful. Construction is not the most beautiful. Wrappers are veiny and sometimes crinkly. They feel simultaneously spongy and rigid - probably just because they're freshly shipped. These aesthetic demotions notwithstanding, the draw and burn are both good. Flavor is excellent - especially giving some consideration for how insanely young these cigars are. 1/3 is medium bodied and nutty/peppery. 2/3 Shows off savory and sweet bits inbetween the building pepperiness. 3/3 is much fuller bodied and intensely peppery, with some leathery flavors present as well. Lots of unexpected complexity and surprises for a $3.30 cigar. I look very much forward to seeing how they improve with some rest. I thought though, that with 3 such solid performances from such young cigars with NO REST, that deserved mentioning. Definitely a good cheap, daily smoke that doesn't need age to be enjoyable. - Submitted by woGGA on October 8, 2017
