Review #45: Just finished a No.2,box Dated Apr04 with code LLN. Very well constructed, nice even burn and is filled with spicy, earthy tones. I am not struck on the last 1/3 of the cigar as it gets very strong. In my opinion this cigar is experienced cigar smokers. I have smoke a couple from my humidor in the last 4 months and the only way I could achieve a consistent burn, and easy draw was to remove the cigar from the humidor about a 20 minutes before lighting. - Submitted by Kevlar on September 30, 2004

Review #44: Frankly, in this reviewer’s opinion not a good Cuban: Although prepossessing and well enough rolled everything else falls into the less than satisfactory category. The most disappointing aspect is a distinctly acrid smoke, then there is a burning problem for the #2 regularly needed relighting, and while it kept a moderately even burn and the ash held fast, it still managed to sprinkle everywhere! I liken this experience to finishing an overly salted bowl of peanuts still in their jackets! Curiously, I was told the Monti #2 was a mild smoke rather like the Diplomaticos #2, but in my view it’s more like a Partagas, further the Diplomaticos #2 exhibited none of the recounted problems and is a very enjoyable smoke. Many years ago, I used to be a box a month of Monti's #1 or #2, but this re-acquaintance is reminder why I left that brand behind! - Submitted by jjme on September 26, 2004

Review #43: Just opened a box dated JUN 04 and had a great smoke. Looked great and smoked even better. Wrapper was a little light colored than expected but very well constructed with a nice oily feel. Burn was slow and consistent. Smoke is creamy, complex and smooth. It should only improve with age. After smoking both the Monte and Diplo No. 2's, I have to go with the Montecristo. It is not as full-bodied as the Diplo but not as harsh either. I like the smoothness and creaminess of the Monte better. - Submitted by Philip M on September 22, 2004

Review #42: Wow. I have to agree with the majority on this one. My box of No.2's are smoking true to form. The wrapper is extraordinaryly silky smooth, the draw even and cool, the taste gets better and better as it burns down. A must. - Submitted by Duffer33 on September 21, 2004

Review #41: Have been smoking cigars with friens for a few years and our favourite was Partagas D 4 however was told by an uncle about the Number 2 and have since smoked it regularly and it is a beautiful smoke and the in smoke in our crew. - Submitted by Bleed on September 16, 2004
