Review #220: After years of hype I couldn't wait to light one up. Somewhat disappointing. the construction was flawless and the draw was smooth but lacked real flavor in the smoke itself from start to finish. - Submitted by mik1118 on September 25, 2008

Review #219: JAN 00 I had two of these on Sunday. The first was from a 2000 box and the second from a 05 box. The first one was near perfect. A Classic Monte. Rich, fullbodied flavors with grass and earthy notes present at the start with distinct flavors of coffee & dark chocolate for the rest of the cigar. Absolutely perfect. But the second one from the 05 box was not quite up to standard just like many others i have had during the year with friends from 05, 06 & 07 stock. It seems that from 2005 onwards the standard for this cigar has dropped a little. I agree somewhat with review 217 that they may be producing to many of these for good quality control because of global demand. I base my review from the 2000 stock. - Submitted by thetim on September 24, 2008

Review #218: This cigar was superb! .. no further comment. - Submitted by jimmy81 on September 23, 2008

Review #217: Hit or miss. They just produce too many of these for quality control for the global demand. Some are great, strong and chocolatey. Some have obvious fungus in the blend. No thanks. Give me a Diplo any day, - Submitted by archie on September 20, 2008

Review #216: JAN 06 My favorite cigar...no doubt about it. Consistently smooth and mellow. Definitely a good buy at $10-12 a stick if you can find it. The Cuban is better than its cousin. This cigar is for an aficianado...period. Enjoyable and easy on the palate. I have had some aging for about 5-6 years and they keep getting better...good the day you buy them though. - Submitted by Joe Brown on September 4, 2008
