Review #240: Got hooked over a year ago. Started to get sick of them, as I was having buring troubles. Forgot about them for a while until I went to Cuba. Got to Jose Marti airport, and Monte no. 2 was the only kind of cigar I could find there (aside from Guantanamero). Bought a box of three, went to my casa, and immediately to the Inglaterre for a Cubatta. Lit up the Monte 2. Don't know if it was kept in the most idela conditions, or if I was simply in the mood, but this was the best cigar I ever had. Burned incredibly well. Taste was so smooth, so rich. Smoked some other Monte 2's for the rest of my stay, they were (of course) excellent, but not like that first one... Brought a box back, haven't stopped smoking them since. - Submitted by Kangaroo495 on February 16, 2009

Review #239: i think the main reason why this cigar only can score8.3+ is bcos some guys being scammed with fake cigars n give bad ratings for this masterpiece. this cigar should have score 9 easily - Submitted by akaiserf on January 27, 2009

Review #238: my cigar for 2008,i have mostly smoked late 2007 ones, not had a single bad draw or poor one in 20 or so smoked. barnyard smells and beautifull monte flavours.still the king. - Submitted by paul watson on December 31, 2008

Review #237: --- 03 From down low in my cabinet I found this treasure. At least 5 y old. Dark, almost maduro wrapper, impeccable and beautiful. Roosted the foot to a perfect start. First draw was light with almost floral taste, Ah, I thought, this is going to be memorable. First third gave a hint of cocoa and there was even leather hiding. The lingering smoke smelled like heaven. After every puff it developed more spiced aromas. Just what I was hoping for, This WILL be a memorable occasion. Sipped on an old Caribbean rum and some well roosted coffee. Second third. No strength yet, more luxurious thick smoke but it started to burn uneven. This went on all of the second third. My lighter gave up after numerous attempts to correct the burn. No "torpedo shaped" glow. It burned like a sidekick. At the end of the second third the difference of the burn was halt an inch. Sipped some more rum and let it just go on. Taste developed more. More cacao and earthy leather. But it was not perfect. I believe it was due to the sideburn this cigar wasn’t perfect. Last third. Sideburn corrected itself more and more. Just as the taste. Now I could sense some typical Monte flavors. Building up some nice coffee/cocoa taste. But no strength. Before I let my stick go I had the feeling that this what not a strong cigar at all, more medium but with a thick "dark" smoke, steelgrey ashes with almost no flaws. I almost enjoyed it all. As I examined the ashes, burn, I do believe that all the veins of the leafs was gathered at one side of this cigar. This is not what I expect from a premium cigar. Very sad. I hope this is not significant for the rest of my Montes. If so I´ll ban them, give them away although the taste was very nice. I believe a good smoke is all about the cigar, construction, smoke, burn and taste. Here I had a serious burn issue that dragged the score down. I do hope Habanero official read this to improve my now lost favorite cigar. It was so beautiful at the start. (My Boli Belis have perfect burn) - Submitted by poppe on December 28, 2008

Review #236: NOV 07 Got a nov/07 box six months ago- tried one when i got it and it was a major disappointment. Tried one last nigh and it was awesome. Age did it well. Woody and spice, perfect draw- and real pleasure. - Submitted by neuticles on December 19, 2008
