Review #245: JUN 08 Just smoked one of these bad boys from a box I recently purchased, box date June 08. I've had a few before, and luckily have never dealt with poor draw or construction problems. Easthetically this is a beautiful cigar, with its pale Colorado wrapper, famous pyramide shape, and impressive ring gauge. Prelight draw is fantastic, woody, cedary, almost wanted to just chew on it. I took my time and lit this masterpiece with spills and was welcomed to a classic Monte flavour profile, the first third was peppery and woody, but as the cigar progressed there were notes of leather, earthy cocoa hints, and that trademark Monte tang. I found this cigar to be a finger burner, no stovepiping for me, just an amalgamation of all the wonderful flavours revisited. I'd place this cigar in the medium bodied range, and my only complaint is that it's not extremely complex (I just smoked a Fuente Fuente Opus X Double Corona 2 days ago, for comparison). I've heard these improve with box age, but I'm not sure how long I can hold out. Smoke one right now if you haven't. Totally worth all the hype. - Submitted by adam z on March 18, 2009

Review #244: What a Classical Cigar ! Have already puff 10 monte 2 and just wanted more.Very reasonable price, and should stock up more for aging. - Submitted by jimmy81 on March 14, 2009

Review #243: MAR 08 When I was in Greece last year I made sure to visit a local cigar shop just for the Monte #2. It did not disappoint. The flavors were hints of chocolate and ended with leather and earth. I was so amazed at how even the burn was and it never had to be relit. I left a few of these with the people we stayed with and they were more than thrilled to accept such a nice gift! - Submitted by jjrebel30 on March 6, 2009

Review #242: --- 08 I am ordering these in boxes of 10 at the moment as there have been a few dissappointments in recent years. When they are on they are great - this batch are definitely the best of my recent purchases. Nice wrappers and well constructed, very complex sweet cedar spice with leather and cocoa with the Monte twang. - Submitted by ian on February 24, 2009

Review #241: I agree with the fact that people have possibly been scammed with fakes of Montecristo 2. I'm convinced this is the best cuban on the market. Though I remember being sold a fake at the restaurant in the Hotel Parque Central (we bought it actually at the restaurant, not from someone selling on the street). This was surprising, as a Habanos shop was just upstairs... - Submitted by Kangaroo495 on February 17, 2009
