Review #290: ---   I am new to tghe cigar world, and I would like to know if there is a big difference between the No2 and the Open Regatta? - Submitted by kcnever on June 17, 2010

Review #289: ---   As a newbie to cigar smoking, I probably lit my first Monte No 2 way too early in my career, especially after cutting it poorly and having to fight the wrapper a bit. An excellent quality slow burn, but too powerful a smoke for me at this time. - Submitted by jimbobber on June 9, 2010

Review #288: ---   This is one of the best smokes I've ever had, I decided to try it due to the reviews and it's popularity and man it was delicious. The burn was perfect and the creamy flavour was just amazing. This was a great present from myself for my 20th birthday. Have a good smoke. - Submitted by jrdencinas on May 26, 2010

Review #286: ---   Just finished my first ever no 2. Although I am quite acquainted with its sibling, the no. 4, I found this one to be quite different. To start with, the appearance of all the no 2's I got from Cayo-Coco's duty free (a box of 10) is flawless: they all appeared to be supremely well constructed. The wrapped is rather pale, quite different from the same size but darker looking Partagas Serie P no. 2. Easy to light and burning evenly, the first third was surprisingly light flavored, probably due to the rather tough draw. In contrast, the no 4 usually start medium-full up-front with cocoa and spice quite present to boot. Not so with the no 2, it was more etheral in the beginning. Things got more serious in the second half with clear cocoa, coffee, spices (nutweg?) and pepper. Those traits climaxed in the last third with a dominance of pepper, earth and a perfect hint of acidity. Overall, a very interesting and serious puro; I think though it needs to be revisited once aging has performed its act. Still, as far as it goeas, I'm more attracted to the the no 4 which I find more balanced throughout. As and indication to my tastes, my preferred vitolas of last are the Trinidad Robusto T (classy, complex, perfect!) and the Cohiba robusto Maduro Cinco Años (que bueno: chocolaty!): the Maduro I smoked in Cuba, with a nice aged rhum in a lounge, while the excellent musicians played some nice classic jazz... no 2 : 8/10 but a better/aged sample will score better. Serious cigar, commands all your attention... - Submitted by Coolzen1 on May 22, 2010
