Review #20: Having just slammed the Montecristo #4 I just recalled smoking a #1 from Brown's in Portofino OCT Shenzhen (China)a few days ago. No comparison at all to the #4. My friends, one an afficianodo and one a newbie, are still raining undeserved comliment on my selection of this cigar from the humidor. The comliments are deserved by the cigar. Smoked along with an uncomlicated French Atlantic Coast Merlot the flavors just married so well. Perfect draw and constuction, perfect burn. Earthy but light on the palate and oh so pleasant on the nose. Hints of citrus which complemented the slight apple flavor of the wine. Finish was caramel and cream. I rate this cigar very highly - but have never found a 10. - Submitted by Syokoy on August 21, 2008

Review #19: MAR 05 What I love about Montecristo is that it's the most consistant brand on the market, I know what the cigars will look like without opening the box.I'm smoking a box from MAR05 and I agree with the descreption that the 1,3,and 4 are the same except after about an inch the #1 gives me a big carmel flavor I don't get from the 3 and 4.A very fine cigar that always puts a smile on my face. - Submitted by Richard Rose on June 25, 2008

Review #18: Received this week box dec 06. Presentation not as above but 25 in standard MC dress box. Box pressed, beautifully rolled with dark wrapper, slightly course. Thankfully draw is good - I used to smoke many different lonsdale size but got fed up with tight draw - it appears that cigars recently manufactured have improved (perhaps they really do use a suction machine for testing) Smoked about 6 from this box, they are better flavour than the MC#2's recently purchased. They haven't all been spot on but generally very good. I think this size is suited to the aficionado as not only very elegant to look at but need to be smoked refinely to get best. Flavour in a good lonsdale is usually quite intense - i would rate this box as med-full flavour and strength. - Submitted by ian on March 12, 2008

Review #17: I trust Montecristo always since it is very well rolled and high quality. Although I smoke several good brands, when I travel I carry with me No.1 and No. 5. I have no idea why! Could be the trust. - Submitted by akkadja on January 2, 2008

Review #16: My review is based on a single cigar I smoked after an El Rey del Mundo Lonsdale. The Monte is completely different in taste than the ERDM (earthy, spicy) and it is much stronger and aromatic. It is what I would expect from an havana, without surprises. Mine was from 2006 and the draw and construction were good. Will smoke again. - Submitted by titobueno76 on December 18, 2007
