Review #50: I saw this cigar in shops about a year ago, but never gave it a second glance until I recently noticed a good "cigar buddy" of mine had tried a few and had wonderful things to say about it. So, I ordered a box. I tried one tonight and all I have to say is, WOW!! I never expected it from such a short stubby cigar, but what a bombshell of wonderful complex flavors! The deep, rich sensation hits you right away from the first full puff...mounds of thick smoke through out which flows out like creamy clouds. This one never got harsh (and I never had any hint of amonia or "green" flavors despite its young age), and it only got richer and deeper as it went along. Earth, leather, spice, with underlying flavors of nutmeg and toffee. Perfect draw, burn, and ash! I've tried a couple dozen of the Epicure #2's over the years and it doesn't even come close to this petit robusto. A MUST TRY & BUY!! - Submitted by D.C. Park on April 21, 2006

Review #49: Recently been trying several smaller formats, including H.Upmann Petit Coronas, Partagas Shorts, & these. I must say that I think these are my favorites. When they arrived the wrappers were a little dry. I had one the same day and it was okay. Now with just a few weeks in the humi, the oils have returned to the wrappers and my second one was really amazing. I agree with the summary; nothing like Epicure #2. Much richer and better balance. Very smooth although still a young box. Great cuban tastes of cedar, nut and tea with some peppery flavors as it approached the last few cm. The draw was perfect, nice smoke and slow burning. Never got hot despite being short. After Sunday brunch with coffee it was a great smoke. - Submitted by psmead on February 27, 2006

Review #48: I received a box dated Jun05. This is the first Hoyo for me, and what a pleasant journey. The wrapper color from this box is a bit inconsistent, some very dark and others lighter all with fine veins. Construction is pretty good and it lights well. The smoke clouds are “full” with a nice grey-ish color. This cigar burns well with a light draw with very little heat. It goes well with Merlot, coffee and Kiwi fruit, and was enjoyed for 65 min which was a great surprise. The finish is very strong with notes of mint and pepper. I seldom smoke a cigar to the very end/shoulder, nearly burning my fingers!! - Submitted by kwagga on February 6, 2006

Review #47: One of my favorite new smokes!!! Probably my favorite as far as fresh or young. Right there with the PSD4! Get while you can, they seem to go quickly everytime they're in stock. - Submitted by mosier on January 12, 2006

Review #46: What a great cigar in this size format. I just got a box last week and finally smoked the first one yesterday. It started out tasting a little young with some hints of amonia, but this soon burned off and the rest of the cigar was excellent. Beautiful construction, smooth wrapper with some very small veins. Excellent draw with very ample smoke. Pretty good burn with some uneveness, had to touch it up several times. The taste was very good with much promise for the future. - Submitted by McSmoke on December 27, 2005
