Review #346: ---   JUN 15 - These mid 2015 D4s are gorgeous. Close on 3 years aged and they are smoking beautifully. Mostly perfect draws with a couple just a bit loose, but the blend is fantastic - rich, creamy, woodsy and complex with sweet, exotic spice. Hints of cinnamon and nutmeg, touches of citrus here and there, some biscuity notes and milky coffee. Perfect even burn and smoked to the nub before getting only a little hot and harsh. I did pick up on a very faint vegetal quality here and there, but I feel another 2 years or so will change this and bring out some extra subtleties/complexity. I've smoked plenty of rather average D4s and even the occasional bad one, but I'm so glad I picked out two 10 boxes of these 2015s. When you can find standard production Havanas that are this glorious it makes you wonder why people ever bother spending vast sums on Reservas and so on. Out of 10 I have to give these a perfect score - out of 100 points I'd rate these ones at 95 with definite promise of a couple of extra points with a few more years proper aging. Some of the finest D4s I've ever had the privilege to enjoy. For anyone interested I store around 18C and 64% RH. - Submitted by A. Dyer on March 28, 2018

Review #345: JUN 13 Get a good box of D4, give it 3 years & there's still no classier an act within the entire Habanos lineup. Earthy, herbaceous & floral with lots of cedar & aromatic spice. White pepper that subtly drifts in & out & an occasional hint of dark chocolate. The only thing I'd have changed about this most recent example would have been to give it a little extra strength, it was straight down the middle medium all the way through. All in all, a thoroughly satisfying smoke & a great aid to unwinding for an hour or so at the end of the day. - Submitted by Vortigan on June 20, 2017

Review #344: ---   Partegas Series E No 2. Bought from Havana Epress inx Sydney. Good tobacco smell prior to lighting. Great first third. Creamy milk chocolate flavours. Accompanied by a great Porter. Mild in the first third. Great draw. Even burn. Moved to to slight medium in the second third. Hints of white pepper. Cedar notes. Hints of cut grass. Great progression from first to second third. Final third more pronounced white pepper. Continued gradual progression. Great after dinner cigar. Great progression throughout. Really enjoyed the experience right through to the final 1 ½ inch. Slight uneven burn in the final third. Had to touch up once but very satisfying experience. Will purchase again. Second half accompanied by a Leffe Bruin. Good match with the cigar. Total smoking time 75 minutes. - Submitted by Rustyman on February 3, 2017

Review #343: May-16. Clearly the D4 is targeting the US market should the embargo ends: easy draw, the band comes off easily -just like the Dominicans and Nicaraguans cigar bands- and lighter than it used to be, maybe need aging. This is a "prt--fumer" cigar, even so young. - Submitted by Frunobulax on December 27, 2016

Review #342: For a smoker used to mild and medium cigars, this is my advice: share this cigar with another cigars fan. Take the first third for yourself and give the other two thirds to your friend. That first third is a clear 10 (perfect flavour) while the last two thirds will get a bit stronger and less enjoyable for a smoker less used to strong cigars. - Submitted by Heinrich on August 20, 2016
