Review #15: When one thinks of Cuban cigars they tend to envision cigars of amazing power and strength. Not true of the wonderful Diplomaticos #2. This is a classic medium bodied cigar that only has minimal spice. Certainly not what many expect from a good Cuban. But what it lacks in strength it more than makes up for in flavor and complexity. To the veteran smoker this one will knock your socks off. Absolutely delicious. It has a wonderful and unique character that must be tasted to understand. I recommend them very highly. - Submitted by CoolBurn on August 12, 2004

Review #14: These are great smokes. I find them to have a little bit more harsh then the Monte 2, but excellent flavour. The Box date of the ones I have is 05/02 and I have a feeling that after 2 or 3 years more years of aging they will be hard to beat. - Submitted by Jim Canada on July 30, 2004

Review #13: Smoked one and, though it was quite moist (my faulty humidor setting at 70% - the american style, which is way too high)the delightful flavour, wrapper appearance and smoke seemed to me as top notch. Anyway, this is a matter of individual taste and mood. A great cigar for great occasions. Except for the price of approx. 20 Euro a piece. - Submitted by Cristian on July 27, 2004

Review #12: Yesterday I tried once again finding the H. Upmann #2, but I wasn't lucky. I took a Diplomaticos #2 instead and lit it up after a nice BBQ. It was stronger than the H. Upmann Monarch and a recently smoked Garcia from Veracruz. I much liked the different flavor. The burn wasn't even at the beginning although I put much attention on lighting it up slowly and evenly. One side was burning about a cm while the other was still within its first mm. After 2 cm it was evenly burning. The Diplomaticos #2 didn't go off once, even though it seemed to be close sometimes. I think the reason might be me being a slowly smoker enjoying each puff. For same reason this cigar lasted me about an hour and a half. The second third became tastier and even the last third wasn't getting stronger but even tastier. At the end it once again burned heavily uneven, one side about a full inch shorter. It was so tasty that I didn't want to let it die and almost smoked my fingernails. All in all a nice flavor, but a lousy burn. Well, it was my only one until now and I might have had bad luck. - Submitted by Karsten on July 18, 2004

Review #11: I am 8 sticks into this box of #2's and I must say I am not blown away. The Monty #2 is a much more flavorful smoke. Don't get this wrong..the Diplomatico is a fine cigar I was just hoping for more. I plan on letting the remainder sleep for a year. I will report back. - Submitted by Raul Gueverra on July 17, 2004
