Review #25: My first box of D2s ever, purchased after reading so many great reviews on them, and the suggestion of my favorite habanos dealer. I agree with many of the reviewers here, I personally think it's got more bite than the more famous Monte 2, maybe a little less spice, but really complex and rich tobacco tastes. The box I just got is quite young, marked KMM Jun 04, but it stills shows complexity and class. I'm very happy with my selection and feel lucky to have found these beauties! Also, I found them to be a great value. - Submitted by Danny on February 26, 2005

Review #24: I agree with those who rate the D#2 over the Monty #2. And since many favor the M#2 as a paramount choice, - please Monty lovers (there are many of you out there!) don’t take offense, but I personally think that the generic (flattened?) flavors of the M#2 pale by comparison to this Vitola. Within the (not-limitless) palate of Cuban flavors, the Diplomatico #2 offers uniquely refreshing flavors and more personality than the M#2 - which appears blended to reach the widest possible audience by comparison. Never overpowering, the D#2 has intriguing notes and an overall rustic toastiness I have not found in any of the more mainstream brands. If you and are in any way bored by the familiarity of your Cohiba, Bolivar, Montecristo, etc., Pyramid or “Campana” (thank you Michael) try a D#2 – it is a different (unique?) experience. On alone taste I rate this cigar an 8, but give it one extra point purely on bravado totaling 9. PS – I agree with the reviewer who found a bit of Cohiba in the D#2. – Perhaps there are some similar but less-aged blends at work here. - Note that this cigar has a very slight hint of sweetness that is not apparent in its taste, but which overcomes any tendency for it to bite, which it does not, although the wrapper is slightly acrid (nutty?) on the lip. …OK I can’t figure this cigar out – I guess I’ll have another one! - Submitted by Lee on February 12, 2005

Review #23: Typically preferring the horsepower of a Monte #2, my palate at first floated on warm-buttered pillows of spice. Soaked in a little Glenlivet, the next mouthful stopped the conversation while I hushed to focus on a profound new pairing. After that, it was all I could talk about. - Submitted by Barry in Calgary on January 19, 2005

Review #22: bought a box codes shows ECA DEC03 after setting for 48hrs i tried one anf find it smooth wiht bitterness in last third might need more time for now no flavors that appear strongly. - Submitted by unknown on January 16, 2005

Review #21: My first box of these... I find the flavor balanced and pleasing. Good draw and the burn seems even and smooth, unlike the inconsistencies I've noted with Monte #2's. A somewhat milder smoke than Montecristo, with a spicy and, to my palate, touch of cocoa. Very good! - Submitted by agen on January 13, 2005
