OCT 06 Voici une vitole d'une richesse inouïe, au goût velouté et subtil qui rassemble la noisette grillée, le chocolat et quelque chose qui s'approche de la cannelle, comme le suggère l'aficionado #67. Vos papilles seront drôlement ravies, tandis que vos récepteurs de sérotonine et de dopamine seront rapidement saturés... Une drogue dure et unique, car il "cogne" et goûte fort sans vous brûler les muqueuses. Je préfère ce cigare aux MC et Upmann #2, car sa qualité est plus constante. Le MC #2 est certes un bijou, mais il souffre sans doute de sa trop grande renommée: on en produit peut-être trop pour bien en contrôler la qualité, et on tombe parfois sur un imposteur insipide. Le Upmann #2, quant à lui, est très bon mais n'égale pas l'excellence des deux autres. Un Diplo 2 de plus de 2 ans ne déçoit jamais, selon mon expérience. DEC 07 On my 5th box of these wonderful torpedo's. I have enlightened many Monte 2 lovers to this cigar. This latest box (Dec 07) is the first I have purchased that are not quite ready for prime time. Construction not quite as perfect as prior examples and taste is little "green" but I will reserve judgement until they sit for some time (I just hate to sit and wait!) - Submitted by kfralin on September 23, 2008

MVC, Most Valuable Cigar. There are more dazzling brands with big hypes, but this one day-in and day-out outperforms them all. It has everything I want in a cigar: figurado shape, dar, oily wrapper (close your eyes and feel for them in your humidor and you will feel that truly Cuban velvety "feel"), ideal length and ring, and a distinctive flavor that I can best describe as sweet and spicy cinnamon. Smokes as well in the daytime as evenings -- not an unforgettable, orgasmic experience, just a cigar you can always count on to deliver. I'm glad they fly a little under the radar -- more for me.
