Review #154: The Cohiba Robusto. Often mystified, frequently overhyped, but truly dignified. Most of the cohiba robustos, I've smoked are no more than 2 years old so please draw references from there. The most beautiful thing about the Robusto is its aroma. Delicious and nutty, it smells better than it really taste. burn is erratic and ash rings are inconsistent however it produces copius amounts of smoke. the first inch may prove too toasty and even unpleasantly burnt to some but it is right in the middle of the cigar that delivers the true cohiba signature beany flavor. thereafter, you will understand why cohiba remains mystified and overhyped. Not my regular robusto even though i stock more than one box at any one time, I liken the cohiba robusto more like a visit to the barber than a meeting with an old friend. - Submitted by Duncan on July 31, 2008

Review #153: Did every one try a fresh rolled Cohiba Robusto? Do it if you have the opportunity! I had the honor of that. A master roller of El Laguito was in Caracas (Mrs. Maria Luisa), and she rolled fresh Robustos for a llimited availability. I had the opportunity and I am really impressed, because the burn, the draw, and the pressence of this stick is amaizing. I really appreciate the people of Epicur Cigar in Caracas because they called me to offer this unique experience. I am really concious about the agign in a tobacco, but this is another thing. Also, she made for me, by request two Lanceros, and both are in my humidor. In the Robusto, there are a complex amount of flavors, but the draw is really improved over the rest of the Cohibas I ever tried before. - Submitted by gpizuornoc on July 29, 2008

Review #152: My first review, and more of a comment really. Admittedly most of the Cohiba Robustos I've smoked recently are relatively young (mainly 96 & early 97) but they are so inconsistent. A good one is stellar, both in terms of burn and taste, but a bad one (mainly through over tight draw, verging on plugged) is unsmokeable. Maybe it's my relative inexperience, but I find it the hardest of all robustos to read before cutting. PSD4, RASS, Hoyo Epi 2 etc. all behave like they feel, but the Cohiba is an enigma. I'm nearly burning my fingers on the nub of one that I thought was ridiculously tight until first draw, and only chose it because it looked like rain might stop play and I was prepared to lose it. Last week I lit one expecting heaven, and got somewhere else instead... - Submitted by Dom81 on July 14, 2008

- Submitted by cipu on June 27, 2008

Review #150: I have been smoking Cohibas for some years now. Usually Siglo 3's. Tried Robustos this week. Fantastic smoke. I advise you to take a flight to Dubai and pay £6.30 per cigar rather than a bank breaking breaking £18. Take a partner and you can legally purchase 100 of these beauties to bring back, have a pleasant holiday and still be quids in!!! - Submitted by philduck on June 1, 2008
