Hoyo de Monterrey Le Hoyo des Dieux Review:

Known as the best of Le Hoyo series, Le Hoyo des Dieux offers an extraordinary woody taste, not the common woody taste, but one which belongs to exotic patterns in great balance. A minimum ageing of at least five years is recommended for this cigar.

Review #65: Firm body, white ash, good draw, very nice shape. 1/3 - light, smooth, toasted tobacco, vanilla; 2/3 - light smooth, hints of nuts, sweet floral notes; 3/3 - light, smooth, woody, good quality tobacco taste and some sweet vanilla towards the finish. Perfect after a light meal. For 7.5€ and 1 hour of a very enjoyable cigar, this sits near premium cigars. Rating : 92/100 - Submitted by nanerobert on June 4, 2014

Review #64: JAN 00 Hoyo des Dieux RPO-Jan. 2000- Very good tobacco. Great maturity on these fourteen years old cigars. Beautiful looking oily smooth wrapper. Very nice size and construction. Even burn and full volume of smoke every time. The cigars medium body, with a very special balanced complexity. Starts off with a lighter mix of woody/cedar, dark cacao, coffee and not overpowering note of pepper. These cigars progresses rather suddenly into greeter complexity with hints of nuts, sweet floral notes, vanilla and some licorice towards the middle. Due to the rich complexity I give it a ten. - Submitted by dimi681 on February 5, 2014

Review #63: --- 11 An abundance of flavors - cinnamon, honey, cocoa, light coffee, cedar, vanilla. Well-made, even burning with a smooth draw. Ready to smoke right away. As these age the flavors become more subtle while the tobacco taste intensifies. - Submitted by Miskis on March 20, 2013

Review #62: --- 94 Tried a single the other day which I believe is from 94. Beautiful colorado claro wrapper, only slightly oily. The cold smell was subtle but sweet, with noticeable honey. The first third was superb, with woody and sweet spices flavours, surrounded by the sweet aroma. Towards the end it unfortunately looses in the flavour profile, with an "old cigar" taste, however keeping a very pleasant aroma, almost like wood fire. Maybe past its prime but still a good smoke. - Submitted by titobueno76 on August 15, 2012

Review #61: MAY 08 Stupendously Brilliant Cigar!!! Aroma is to die for – Floral notes across the board. Even your wife will sit up and ask what are you smoking? The first third greets you with subtle woody notes, and then as your progress into the 2nd third prepare yourself… Rich fruity flavors, hints of vanilla and cinnamon, plum and roasted marshmallow. The final third has hints of spice laced with the vanilla and cinnamon. Cigar is medium bodied, and can be enjoyed any time of the day. Smoking time is around 60 mins, and I would recommend pairing it up with a nice malt, preferably a Talisker 10 year old, or a light to medium bodied coffee blend. - Submitted by Algreco on March 21, 2012
