Review #33: Tried my first one last week.
I must say i love that kind of size in a cigar.
I found the # 4 beautyfull very well made. The taste was strong, peppery all the way. But not too much !!!
Not one of my best but i will try again for sure, because it's got something interesting. - Submitted by beaver on June 6, 2006
Review #32: I am now on my second box of #4's over the course of the 3 past years. The cigars I am currently smoking are from November 2004. The are identical in style to my previous box from mid 2003, which is a nice sign...good to have consistency box to box, year to year. I LOVE these cigars when I'm looking for a rich quick smoke after a nice meal. Most samples have an easy draw and produce volumous amounts of smoke that is chocolatey, fresh, rich and fruity. Yes, I did say "fruity"....please allow let me explain. I'm not talking about the taste of apples or pears, etc, but rather a style characteristic of the cigar. Being much better at describing wine than cigars, this cigar has characteristics like a full-bodied fruit-forward high-alcohol Napa Valley Cabernet rather than a more reserved or elegant or potentially more complex Bordeaux. The #4 is not a complex cigar nor is it particularly elegant, but if you are in a mood for a quick decadent flavor powerhouse that is not overbearingly strong then this fits the bill perfectly. This is a cigar that I always keep on hand for those times. - Submitted by HABANO DUDE on May 20, 2006
Review #31: BOX CODE JNL JUN 04,
WHAT A FINE EXAMPLE OF THE ROMEO BRAND, WRAPPERS CHOCOLATE BROWN AND OILY, WITH A VERY SMOOTH SHEEN, PACKED AS SOLID AS A BRICK, UPON FIRST LIGHT THE SUBTLE AROMAS THAT ARE ROMEO AND ONLY ROMEO ARE EVIDENT, THE ALMOST FRUITY AROMA HITS YOU RIGHT IN THE NOSE, MY WIFE EVEN ASKED WHAT CIGAR I WAS SMOKING, THE WELL AGED TOBACCO AND SUBTLE AROMAS OF CHOCOLATE, VANILLA, HONEY, AND CINNAMON, YES EVEN CINNAMON ARE TRULY ROMEO AND ONLY ROMEO, THESE ARE ALMOST LIKE A SHORT CHURCHILL THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS THE DARKER WRAPPERS. - Submitted by BIGYESTA on May 5, 2006
Review #30: Very spicy, strong, great development. Buy if possible a box of 50 - this guarantees you a perfect quality consistancy. A must for the humidor of experienced "cuban" smokers. - Submitted by Discoverer on April 16, 2006
Review #29: I had smoked one of these a couple of years ago and was not impressed - bad draw and burn out.
I travelled to Cuba last year and gave the R&J another shot. I was pleased enough to buy a box to bring back. I aged them in my humidor over the last year. Great flavour and aroma. I had no problems with the draw or burn like some reviews. This fine cigar even kept a nice ash. I recommend it with a nice port in front of a warm winters fire. - Submitted by jt on February 19, 2006
