Review #19: I was fortunate to receive a 1999 Vegas Robaina Don Alejandro from a generous friend. The cigar lit and drew nicely right from the start, and throughout. It started off with a smooth coffee/mocha taste, with a touch of milky cream. The first third of this cigar was incredibly smooth and tasty. The flavor was mild and light at first. In the second third, the strength and body of this cigar kicked up a notch. The mocha/coffee taste continued, but became more full bodied. Some additional flavors began to emerge—earthy and nutty flavors, reminiscent of toasted almonds. I began to notice a strong tobacco taste, and the strength of this cigar became more noticeable. Although I was smoking slowly, I began to feel an impressive nicotine buzz, but without any harshness. During the final third, this cigar came alive with a roaring intensity. Every puff grabbed my attention and slapped me in the face. I was glad that I had eaten a good lunch, because this cigar would have knocked me flat on an empty stomach. I greedily savored every bit of delight that this big cigar had to offer. I smoked it to the nub and when I finally pit it down, I was fully satisfied. This cigar gave me nearly two hours of enjoyment, and it took me on a full ride from mild sweetness at the beginning to bold, intense flavors near the end. This is one of the best Prominentes I have had the pleasure to smoke. It was a real treat to get to enjoy this nicely aged cigar. A fabulous cigar that deserves attention from every cigar lover. - Submitted by Professor Twain on July 6, 2007

- Submitted by Guillaume on June 13, 2007

Review #17: got to know this very fine cigar in cuba, right there on the plantation. Excellent draw, excellent burn and this taste!!! Can certainly compete with the Cohiba Esplendido! at a much more competitive price! - Submitted by Rolf on February 19, 2007

Review #16: Wow, what a great cigar. Amazing flavor right from the start, nice and strong, good draw, burn, construction, smooth. Why all double coronas are compared to the Hoyo DC I'll never know. The Hoyo is so mild as to require another cigar shortly after finishing it. This dream just gives and gives, a totally complete smoke in every way. Another diamond in the ruff. I can't imagine how good they'll be with some time under their belt. Don't listen to the naysayers on this one! - Submitted by peprdo on February 10, 2007

Review #15: I received a box of these which were unsmokable. After a few months in my humidor, they are still very unpleasant sticks. Very difficult draw and generally a bad experience. I assume the tobacco was not properly cured, though I'm no expert. These are my first bad Cubans. - Submitted by Steve on September 18, 2006
