Review #18: I smoked one of these in Santa Clara, Cuba last week and it was probably the biggest surprise of all the cigars I smoked in the past week. It wasn't the best, but I had low expectations and it ended up being a very impressive cigar. Perhaps I can't get over my disappointment of Sancho Panza Belicosos. Nevertheless, given my like of other Sancho Panzas I will not disregard this brand any further. In fact, I am willing to argue that this corona gigante/julieta is one of the best. It is still in the shadow of the Cohiba Esplendido, but an excellent change from the RyJ Churchill, Partagas Churchills de Luxe, and H.Upmann Monarcas. There are excellent cigars within this class of Cubans but the Sancho Panza belongs at the top with the others. Beautiful medium flavours, the cigar certainly takes you on an impressive smoking journey. A beautiful oily wrapper, the draw, pull, and burn were exceptional even in the hot, humid, Cuban weather. I agree with reviewer #14 that there are vegetal flavours, however I detected slight spice in the last third. ...not much, however. I nubbed this until my fingertips burned and the cigar fell out of my fingers. A very impressive Sancho Panza. It gets my vote as the best of the brand. - Submitted by cookj1 on January 17, 2009

Review #17: DEC 01 I am lucky to have a well aged box from 2001 that has a lot of lovely plume. It is a wonderful, mellow, "sit-down" smoke. It has a leathery, almost metallic taste, albeit light and smooth, and one light is all it needed. It burned perfectly top to bottom. I'm not usually a fan of Sancho Panza, but I love to be proven wrong if it means discovering a good cigar. A pleasant surprise. - Submitted by eugelmi on September 9, 2008

Review #15: Can't understand why some reviewers are bashing this cigar for not having a stronger flavour! This is a mild cigar and doesn't release much smoke, but has a subtle and complex flavour, to be savoured slowly over at least 1,5 hours. In many cases a cigar smoker would reach out to a stronger drink to match the taste of cigar, when smoking this Sancho one should be careful not to destroy the delicate blend of aromas with an unnecessarily strong drink. Great cuban IMHO. - Submitted by akinci13 on February 16, 2008

Review #14: I just finish smoking one of these while watching the NE vs NYG game...and the game was much better than this cigar. I'd read and heard all the great reviews about this cigar and my experience was so enjoyable. I purchase a box of 10 TDV-JUN.03 let them rest in the humidor a week then gave them the test. The taste was MIA, off from the beginning..."spicy?" PD4 is spicy. The taste was bland, vegetal and never improved...I smoke a lot of good cigars and this wasn't one of them.

Burn was mostly even, some running, but rotating the cigars' position it quickly caught up. For a 4 year cigar...I'm dumbfounded. I want to sell the remaining 9! I agree with review #13. - Submitted by nottiman on December 30, 2007
