Review #8: I'm surprised this cigar gets so many good reviews. Although I thought this was a good cigar, I didn't find it exceptional. I had draw problems. This Mercaderes didn't burn well. It would burn extremely hot. I will be looking to other San Cristobals in the future before I return to the Mercaderes. - Submitted by cookj1 on May 26, 2008

Review #7: Received today - EMA April 07 red polished wooden cabinet with Casa Del Habano lozenge on box, great brass hinges with Habanos stamped on them also second band on cigar with casa Del Habano. Smoked 2 and was delighted that the cigars are as good as the presentation. After cutting the exposed end looked very compact and I was expecting difficult draw - my worst nightmare, great surprise the draw was superb and the second one I'm smoking now also has perfect draw. Huge volumes of smoke and quite intense flavour with medium strength, seem stronger due to the easy draw. Quite unique taste, cannot make comparison to other brands and aside from a box of SCDH Principales which I smoked a year ago and found very inconsistent many too tight (which when good did have a similar flavour although no where near as much or as intense)I would describe as slightly sweet with a creaminess. Very complex smoke, much attention has been used for the blend. These are a dream and get maximum rating from me. I would be interested to hear from other reviewers if this box (packaging etc)is standard or a special production for Casa Del Habano. - Submitted by ian on April 1, 2008

Review #6: Just smoked the first from a July 07 box. Too young to try one, but couldn't resist. Even this early, the cigar had an excellent draw and burn. On the lighter side of medium-bodied, but the richness and complexity of flavors really shine. Hints of caramel, molasses and vanilla among many others. Excellent experience, will only improve as they rest in the humidor, treat yourself! - Submitted by jsummers157 on January 2, 2008

Review #5: What a amazing cigar this is. The Mercaderes is everything a good cuban cigar should be! The construction is perfect and it gave me a wonderful taste of coffee, leather, and a load of other stuff. All together this is a very, very good Hermoso No.1 - Submitted by Eduard on August 14, 2007

Review #4: I found this cigar to be medium bodied and a very refined taste. It was perfectly constructed with a great draw. It will perhaps score even higher then the 8 I give it today with a few months in the humidor. Beautiful presentation. - Submitted by jimcanada on March 15, 2007
