Review #12: The Short Churchill is a pleasant cigar to look at. Stubby and firm, with its nice gold band, it looks mighty promising. After clipping I notice a sturdy but pleasant draw, with a pre-lit aroma of cedar wood. You just know you're in for the characteristic flavour of a RyJ. Immediately after lighting I notice how I get thick wads of smoke from every puff. It starts of like a true Cuban: strong and peppery. However, already a special complexity and unique flavour shines through. After the initial blast is over, fruity citrus-like tones are appearing, not unlike those found in Dominican cigars. The smoke comes through very cool, and it only takes a few minutes to realise that this is a very varied, rich cigar. 10 minutes in the smoke becomes creamy, and the taste reaches a fantastic balance between mild strength and rich flavour. Every draw reveals new aspects, you'll really want to cherish each and every second of this smoke. The creaminess continues to become more pronounced and sweet. Halfway down a smokey flavour comes in. From then on the evolution is slow but steady. The finish is remarkably smooth, and lasts a long time. The creamy smoke texture pushes through, mixed with hints of vanilla. On the last stretch it gains both in sweetness and freshness. This cigar has the heart of a true Habano. It looks marvelous, every type of smoker will look good with it. The draw is on the tight side, but with the amounts of smoke coming through, it balances out perfectly. The burn wasn't perfect and required some correction of the wrapper, but no major problems. Lasting a good 70 minutes and revealing its body to the fullest, it captures the essence of a robusto much better than most actual robustos do. A marvelous smoke that holds great potential for aging. Bringing this vitola on the market was a great move on the part of RyJ. And they must also be commented on the great design of the tubes for this one. - Submitted by Nekotaku on December 29, 2006

Review #11: Just love this cigar, it is a great all around smoke, not too strong and yet not too mild. I am sure this one will improve tremdously with age. - Submitted by seand on December 20, 2006

Review #10: I do not see how anybody could give this cigar less than a solid 9. Myself, I gave it a 10. Loads of rich smoke accompany the perfect draw. Combine this with consistency from stick to stick along with a variety of flavors and notes across the palate and you achieve pure smoking bliss. I prefer this over a regular Churchill. A tad expensive, but worth the investment. If these are allready this good at a young age, I cannot wait to see how they taste with a few years behind them! - Submitted by jcruise400 on December 18, 2006

Review #9: An excellent cigar! The best RyJ I've had so far. You would never believe that it's so young, and with age these must become simply amazing. Bought a box of these after having smoked one. - Submitted by Lemon on December 9, 2006

Review #8: Just smoked the first stick out of a box of 10 dated April 2006 and was very impressed. Smooth! Great draw with nice wheaty taste and flash of cocoa mid-cigar. Going to age at least a few more months to see if it unleashes even more flavor. - Submitted by carld on December 9, 2006
