There’s a Trio of Coronas Gordas that I like very much: Cohiba Siglo IV, H Upmann Magnum 46, and Romeo y Julieta Exhibición nº 3. All of them are very ready at 4-5 years of aging. After that time I find something common in these three cigars: Strength, Finesse and Multi-dimensional smoke. Today, I’d like to talk about the RyJ Exhibición nº 3. From a PAR NOV 01 box (La Habana Factory, I guess), this is a very well rolled Corona Gorda, dressed in oily Colorado, silky tact with very thin veins. Easy to light, burning uniform along all smoke. First Third: Well balanced strength/tones, medium almost strong smoke. Second Third: Classic Romeo y Julieta flavours are there - Wood and Leather with some creaminess. Last Third: Powerful but elegant smoke, very Cuban, non tiring end. I would recommend this cigar in the afternoon, alone or with coffee and/or a bit of chocolate, to all of you, new or old aficionados. Bassman was kind enough to send me one of these to sample. He's right: this was a full-bodied, spicy cigar, with loads of nutty, fruity flavors, and an ample amount of peppery spice. I put it down with about a third left, because it became too tannic and harsh, but I was left wondering about the aging potential of the 2006 vintage. This cigar began with a burst of citrus fruit with slight cedar and cream undertones. Black pepper interrupted before the citrus became too much - after the first third. Some sporadic hints of honey added to my enjoyment. An excellent cigar that was well constructed - clouds of smoke. - Submitted by CastroGTX on August 24, 2007

What a lovely smoke. It may not be as good as some, but it's still a very good smoke, able to compete with the best of its size. The flavour started very nutty and creamy, eventually changing to nice wood, and a solid overtone of classic Cuban tobacco. For a short while, I also got nice flavours of honey on the exhale. This cigar exhibited a perfect draw, with lots of smoke. This is a very solid smoke, and I would definitely recommend trying one. - Submitted by agraupe on August 7, 2007
