Review #162: MAY 10 Very good cigar. There is nothing more to add. - Submitted by kml on August 26, 2014

Review #161: Pre-draw and smell is chocolaty, looks amazing, well constructed and velvety touch. 1/3 - light to medium, cocoa cream, coffee, vanilla; 2/3 - light to medium, creamy, smooth, honey, sweet woodiness 3/3 - medium, earthy and raw tobacco. A very enjoyable cigar, you do feel nice holding it, it looks great, but giving the price of 17 € and the last third which makes you forget that this should be a premium cigar, you do not have such a good quality/value balance. Yet it offers a solid 2 hours of smoking. Rating : 80/100 - Submitted by nanerobert on June 1, 2014

Review #160: --- 00 Romeo Julieta Churchill PVC-2000-It is very important to note that the R&J Churchills of the last couple of years that come with two labels (the golden one, and the red R&J) have nothing to do with the Churchills as they were once made (as presented on the image here, single golden label). Once again we witness a cigar that has gained popularity and thus becomes overproduced and marginalized in terms of leaf selection and general quality. For anyone who comes across aged and well preserved batches, it can be expected to have simply some of the most beautiful cigars. Last ones I smoked are from 2000, very well preserved and a true memory of what this once amazing cigars used to be. With beautiful smooth dark and oily wrapper and a slight box press, these are just great to look at. The pre-ignition draw is of strong cocoa. Mild at first yet sophisticated they deliver great flavors of cocoa, crème coffee, vanilla and a hint of whiskey. As the cigar progresses it becomes more complex and some halfway through there is a hint of licorice, that gathers slight strength and makes for a mix of great and very rich sophisticated aromas. Very even, almost perfect burn for the couple of sticks I had. I can happy rate these as 9.5 in terms of smoking experience. However I must repeat that this has nothing to do with the R&J Churchill as of the last years…in fact these new overproduced cigars are nauseous with their chemical-like flavor. I would not touch them…so this review is indeed not for these… - Submitted by dimi681 on November 24, 2013

Review #159: OCT 11 Beautiful looking cigar, lovely reddish tinge to the wrapper, no large veins or marks, double banded, it certainly looks the part. Very smooth opening, little or no harsh flavours despite young age. It seems much more refined than the Short Churchill. Cedar and light spice aspects as the cigars opens up. Middle 3rd is medium bodied with toasted nutty flavours and a little sweetness. Not much in the way of honeyed tones, more woody, dark cocoa. Final third increases in strength and a few bitter notes appear. All in all a great cigar, smooth, refined, thoroughly relaxing. Paired with a Balvenie Doublewood. Deserves a higher rating than it currently has. - Submitted by tomothebuilder on July 15, 2013
