Punch Super Selection No 2 Review:

This cigar could be classed as a "Corona Grande" or a "Short Cervantes". It's a little diamond of the the punch cigars range, and although it is not as good as Punch Punch, cigar lovers will really appreciate it. All the qualities of the brand are present in this cigar.

OCT 98 Simply one of my favorite smokes, I've samples examples from '98, '99, '01, & '02. Ea somewhat different from the next, but all with that wonderful Punch SS#2 quality. The '01's were the strongest by far, followed by the '99's. The '98's are almost a vitola onto theor own. Full and strong, but balanced and without any harshness at all. Rasins and oak dominate the first third, followed by stronger hardwood tasts and leather in the second third. The final third produces more leather with a deep, rich spice, quite like fresh ground black pepper. If smoked slowly during the final inch, a toasty/woodsy taste emerges as well. Complex, balanced, just a true delihjt to smoke. If you can fine these, don't hesitate, snap them up! - Submitted by knuck42 on September 27, 2009

JUN 01 I've read several reviews alluding to draw problems with '01 SS2s, but after having smoked through nearly ten cabs of these, I can say that problems have been extremely rare. --- 01 I tried some Cigars of 01 period with impossible draw. Needed lots of massage and they were still a challenge to smoke. Even so , i couldnt stop smoking it. Having been a smoker of fine, handmade cigars for approximately 20 years, it is with due caution that I rate this cigar a perfect ten. I was fortunate enough to have been able to smoke one recently, and it had everything one could possible look for in it's taste profile. Complexity, smoothness, balance, flavors such as vinella bean, cream, and mild leather, all atop a bed of light spice. Razor sharp burn, I nubbed this cigar until my ips and fingers burned. Finish, finish, finish. That's all I need to describe this cigar. It leaves an amazing earthy/spice finish that lingers on and on. The complexity of the smoke, which ranges from coffee-wood-spice-fruitiness? is sometimes too complicated to keep track of. I enjoy the Punch Punch for its straightforward flavors, but these can be amazing.
